Default Getting clay out of a crevice

I'm a new Z owner and finally had time to clay bar the car today.

I managed to get a small amount in the crevice on the lower panel (in front of the back tire). Any suggestions? My clay usually pulls any excess up but can't seem to get it in this case. Thanks (search didn't seem to answer my question).

This happened to me once, and I used a completely dry piece of clay and "blotted" the stuck piece out. Did you try spraying whatever you were using for lubricant inside the crevice to try to break the bond with the piece of clay and the body? After doing that I would imagine it should pop right out.

Toothpicks also work.

Lots of different ways to approach this. I typically use a clean microfiber towel and jamb it in there and wipe. Sometimes a little quick detailer or 50/50 mix of water and rubbing alcohol will help. If that doesn't work you can wrap your microfiber towel with something long and skinny like a toothpick and work it in to the crevice. Be careful not to hit the paint and cause scratches. If those methods don't work let us know and we'll go over more tactics.

Good suggestions. I'll be trying these methods tomorrow.

I did try to break the bond with the clay lube I was using but to no avail. I was a little paranoid about putting some elbow grease into a microfiber cloth on that crevice so I appreciate the prompt replies.

Toothpick worked like a charm, thanks again.

However, I had my first real noob moment of having my first Z. The crevice was actually the protective film on the lower panel in front of the back tire. ^_^

From the angle I was clay bar'ing originall I thought is was a line cut in the body for detail. fa!l.

yeah right at the edge of the clear bra in front of the rear fenders. I've had the problem before. Glad it worked.
