Default Engine Cleaning

Ok, this may sound dumb, but how do you clean your engine and everything else under the hood? Do you just spray some stuff like Eimans Hi Intensity on the parts? But then you can't just hose everything off under there can you? So how do you rinse?

Also, if you have custom painted parts under the hood I assume you just polish or wax those the way you would your paint?

Lastly, somewhat off topic, but can someone point me to how or where they got their engine parts and caps painted?

well, my friend russ works at a towing and mechanic shop and he told me that all they do to clean off the engines on any car that comes through there wanting it is they spray it down with kerosine....let it sit for about 45 seconds, then rinse it off. works wonders, seen it b4. but im a lil on the iffy side of spraying kerosine on the engine of the z, the kerosine is for extreme cases, like, people that have never cleaned their engines and they have like 60k+ miles on it, hope it helps, take it to a mechanic shop and ask them about it, im sure they will know.

I just use Engine Detailer stuff that i got at Auto Zone and blow it out with the air compressor. I have thought about getting a Steam Mouse to clean it, but so far it is staying pretty clean.

Armorall! Spray it down with Gunk Foam engine cleaner per instructions & hose off ( I use a 2400 psi power washer. Spray every inch of the engine & compartment, I mean soak it, with armorall (you don't need to wait for the water to dry). Do not wipe it down! Just let the armorall drip dry. You'll be amazed the next day. IMO this is the only thing armorall is good for. You may dolute 50 / 50 with water before applying if you'd like (I don't though).
