Default CLEANING CF HOOD: water spots bad

Ok, I've had my Seibon CF hood for under 2 yrs now, and there is tons of fading/hazing on the corners, and there are water spots on it that I can't get rid of and neither could my detailer. I need some ideas on how the heck to get this stupid hood clean lol

Anything in particular that I should be using to get it looking like new ?

in what way is your detailer trying to get rid of the water spots and hazing? Either your detailer doesn't know what he is doing or you will need your hood recleared with nice clear coat and not the cheap one that comes on seibons.

I'm not sure what he did actually, I wasn't at the car when it was done, but I know the hood only has the crappy Seibon clear on it, I have never had it cleared. I'm just going to say screw it and eventually get a different hood.

I assume the hood has a clear coat on it, if not that would change my advice. Assuming it does you can try a Water Spot Remover formula for light watermarks. Often times they can etch in to the clear coat, which will require some serious polishing to remove. If they've really etched very deep in to the clear coat you may need some touch up work. Here is a very rough estimate of what I've seen when I detail. I would estimate 10% - 25% of the vehicles I see with watermarks can be removed with a cleaner like the Chemical Guys Water Spot Remover. If that doesn't work you'll need to polish which I would say can remove the imperfections from about 95%+ of the vehicles I've worked on. If you use a high speed rotary buffer with an aggressive polishing combination you should be able to buff them out. A very small percentage of vehicles have etchings that are so bad that a re-spray is in order.

I would check with your detailer and see what they have done. A quality polish job with the right products and tools should be able to restore it. I hope this helps.

Well I did not have the hood cleared. I simply bought it and put it on the car. I need to replace the hood anyway as the latch on my particular hood is effed anyway, but I am going to try the water spot remover to see if that helps. Thanks for the advice.
