Default Best wax / protectant for Brand New Z?

Hey, all!
Well, that *new* 08 black z is sitting pretty in my garage - I'm afraid to drive it!
Sitting in the drivers seat, shifting the gears is cool, though!
Anyway - am interested in the best way to shine her up while putting some serious wax layer between her and the road? She's black.
Example - 10 years ago, got a new black Camaro - I just shined it up w/carnaba wax - 2 layers - and it held up pretty good to a keying by a loser that was jealous of my ride.
So - if you have a BRAND NEW black one - what do you do to shine/protect her?
Thanks for your help - my love to you all!
PS - are these cars fast?

Yes, I realize there is a detailing thread - just fishing for some suggestions. Hey, we all gotta wash em and protect em, right? That's a good, common topic!
My love to you all - Chazz

Zaino.

More importantly than type of wax is the cloth you use to dry/buff (clear coat is sensitive/fragile).

Personally, I prefer microfiber, but the Zaino online page used to swear by Cannon or Fieldcrest (100% cotton).

Default Thanks! Heard Ziano is $$$

I've heard ziano is $$$$? Kinda like Mac cosmetics. Your woman wonders into the MAC space at the mall - the MAC girls are too hot to even acknowledge your presence - they look at you , then turn up their noses - and your woman leaves with $1305 worth of MAC cosmetics - and the MAC babes STILL won't acknowledge you are alive... yes, they are THAT cool.

thing is, there is no "best" since each company claims them to be just that. same goes for those that use these products, they will all claim the type they use to "be the best thing ever" . what it boils down to is what you want to pay. Personally I use Zaino and it is well worth the cost.

Migliore huh? Looks almost the same to me. But for 34 bucks i can buy about 6 # 26's and still have it bling blinging just as good! But Do the Mig on a Z and show us some good angles and we'll see.

Meguire's isnt all that good. I've used all their waxes. Not impressed. I havent tried Migliore, but right now, no wax has impressed me enough to trade in my zaino..
I've used zaino for 2 years now.

maguires is good enough. Spending too much $ on a wax thats going to get rained on and smashed by bugs and have pollen sit on it. Mag's is easy and cheap to throw on daily or weekly ya know...

as the saying goes, to each their own!

Comparing the pictures I find the detail of the Lexus producing much more depth and reflection, but I'm not here to take shots at each other . I've posted pictures of a Z as well in the detailing forum .

If you're looking for an average shine, sure the over the counter Pep-Boys products will work decently. It's for the demanding detailer that wants the best that uses Migliore. Like you said, different strokes for different folks.

Welcome.

Since you have owned a black car I assume that you know what to avoid. And how much work does a car with 200 miles need? Several of our members drive black 350Zs with 50,000 plus miles. They look immaculate. Do what they do.

im not taking shots or i'd be wasted! but look at my last pic on the Z. I believe thats a deeper shine plus the reflection of the building is flawless. Im not knocking down Mig's quality at all, but carnauba is carnauba is all im saying. Why pay more for a name brand when the $15 maurberry's are just as good as the $160 Jordans! (sneaker's)

meg 16oz is $12.95
mag 8oz is $34.99

Zaino 16 oz is 14.99, i use less of that than megs. The only problem i hvae with megs is that it doesnt last long. It'll last 2-3 weeks in jersey. Zaino lasts 1-2 months usually, even though I use it once every 2 or3 weeks. It coats..ect ect.
