Default emmmm Sooo Shiny

One of the other members asked me to share some pictures of my car. It is five years old. Last year I had the car wet sanded and buffed and was told not to wash the car as much. So in the past 13 months I have only washed the entire car once. I wash the front bumper to get the bugs off from time to time, but other than that my secret tip is to use really good products and an even better microfibre cloth. When its time to clean my car, I use a duster and quickdetailer. Hope you like the shine..

Your detailer told you not to wash your car as much? Is he mentally deficient? If you PROPERLY wash a car, you can maintain the finish and not enduce marring. Dusting the car is one of the worst things you can do as you're just dragging anything over the surface unlubricated. Any time the car gets dirty you need to properly wash the car. Rain water, brake dust, bird droppings, and grime are all harsh on finishes and need to be removed fairly often depending on how much you drive your car.

I agree. You should stay away from your detailer. Washed your car once? Unless it never see rain, snow, dust, or even the sun, that's quite amazing. There is no product out there that keeps the protection of the paint for that long. Your wax/sealant would wear out over time and it's definitely way before 13 months. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't wash the car for 13months, I must wash mines weekly.

The car has 20,000 miles on it. I drive it hard, since it is my track car, I just change the wheels and tires and pads and go racing. If you see the car in person it shows its age. I do wash the car, dont get me wrong. When I am not using the car its sits under a cover. So no its not a daily driver. The car was wiped down with meguiars quick detailer before the shoot.

Very nice paint. I see the logic of your detailer suggesting not to wash the car as that will totally avoid marring but, it's very impractical.

Great shots of your ride. I love the setting and the deep gloss appearance. When black cars have been freshly detailed it's tough to beat them.

I wish my black Z looked like that, well it could if I would take the time to detail it more often.

Car looks great in that lighting. But I would love to see it under some halogens.
