Default Just got hit by my mom's car... pics inside. Any ideas on getting dents removed???

Hello folks,

So my mom was trying to park her car in the garage and freaking hit my rear left bumper/quarter panel. the scratches are deep, and the paint is damaged on both the bumper and the quarterpanel. I used Scratch X to take off whatever marks I can, but it didn't help much.

Any suggestions on what to do here? I am dead broke, and there's no way that I am going to collect money from my parents who are also broke. Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated! I'd like to avoid replacing the panel/bumper as much as possible. Thank you much in advance!

Keep going over it with the ScratchX.

I've read good reports that ScratchX works after a few passes (5x). If the damage doesn't get any better, you're pretty much stuck with saving up to go to the body shop.

At this point, scratch X won't do much. Seeing the damage, your only choice is to repaint the bumper + rear quarter. If there's any dent on the rear quarter, the bodyshop will need to straighten it out/replace it....depending on the location of the dent.

it's not even that bad, just stop looking at it. I got something similar to it on the other side of my rear bumper and it's much worst than yours. Just wait until you have the money and then fix it. My passenger door was recently backed into by someone else, so their insurance will cover that minor fender bender on the door, and I'll cough up a bit extra to take care of my bumper.

Thats too much damage for a do-it-yourself fix. File an insurance claim.

buying a full body kit and paint it. I mean you already need to do the rear. So whats the big deal with doing front and sides as well.

Hah...it's happened to all of us. The damage doesn't look that bad though, just a little paint. Be glad she didn't hit a hard to fix panel like your door.

It's no myth.
It's biology when she can't see over the steering wheel.

Scratch X will not do a thing. Bite the bullet and get it fixed the right way.

thx folks!

i guess i'll take it to my body shop and get an estimate. any guesses on how much it'll come out to?

also besides the paint coming off, there's a slight dent. it's not obvious but nevertheless noticeable... does that mean i would have to replace the entire quarter panel? or do body shops know how to straighten that out?

thx again everyone!

alot of body shops may be able to get it out depends on how bad it really is and where. Pics are hard to tell. Just get an estimate hopefully they will be able to get it all out good luck.
