Default Can you wax too often?

I've had my Z for about a month now, and I've waxed it 3 times in 3 weeks. (I just can't stand looking at it covered in dirt. Damn Atlanta rain!). Anyway, is this ok for my paint? or is it ok to wax once a week? I've been using Mequires Gold Class on my Super Black. Thanks!

its ok to wax weekly, wont hurt a thing! Might even get a little more protection from micro=scratches because there is always fresh wax.

I have waxed more or less once a week since I got the car, sometimes more. Got it about 6 months ago. Blackfire or Zaino.

as long as it is a nonabrasive..it is fine. cleaner/waxes tends to contain some abrasives in them though.

Gold Class is a cleaner wax, but mild so it will not hurt anything but it seems to me to not be needed if you would incorporate a detailer spray into your car cleaning process. Basically, when your car is dirty, wash it with a quality car wash, dry it, and use a detailer spray (Meguiars version would be Quick Detailer or Final Inspection) on the paint after each wash, quicker than doing an entire wax all over again. Use the detailer spray often on a black surface for sure......

Thanks for all the good info. I've been wanting to step-up to either Zaino or Blackfire, but price is keeping me from doing so. $10 for some decent Meguiars or almost $90 for the Zaino kit. That's a good chunk of change.

You don't really have to buy the whole kit in my opinion. Also a bottle of Zanio is good for allot of layers. I can usually get 4 coats out of only 2oz of Zanio. Belive the hype, the stuff is for real!

Your comparison is applies and oranges, the Zaino kit is 84.70, that is for two bottles of polish, activator, detailing spray, clay bar, and car wash. The same stuff using a Meguiars system would almost be the same dollars......

To keep it even, you would get:

Z-1 and Z-2 for 21.90

or compare that to Gold Class Prep step one and Gold Class wax for about 17 or 18 bucks.

Zaino is very cheap, other waxes can be 50 or 60 dollars for one 8 ounce bottle or can...

Damn Zaino Gestopo! Will they stop at nothing!? As soon as my Meguiars is gone I'll probably take the Zaino Plunge.... Damn you and your strongarm tactics! ( I'll probably be spreading the "Word According to Zaino" as my first coat goes on. I did the same thing with my Tivo)

Screw the Tivo. Buy a ReplayTV. Better picture quality, and ethernet instead of dial-up. Transfer shows to MPEG on your PC and exchange shows with others on the internet. No-brainer.

Doesn't have better picture quality than my dual-tuner DirecTivo... :-)

(DirecTivo writes the actual digital feed from the satellite onto the hard drive. There is no digital-to-analog conversion anywhere.)

Ahhhhh.. A tivo debate in the detailing section of a Z forum? Probably not good.

Justin

(PS. Tivo DOES have Ethernet, and you can stream Pics and MP3's to it....... totally sweet. Buy a Tivo)
