How to clean before applying vinyl?
I am about to put on a black vinyl roof overlay tomorrow and I am not sure how to prepare the roof surface.
Besides washing it and all, is there anything else I should do? Like perhaps a minor hand wax? (Meguiars 3-step?)
Thanks.

Clay bar and wash it.
Rub it down with Wax&Grease remover or rubbing alcohol.
Do this indoors in a non-dusty area and where there's no chance of a wind draft or breeze.
Do not try to attempt it outside.

The claybar was only to get conatminants off the paint that can give it a rough surface.
If you can run your hand all over your roof without feeling any rough stuff, don't worry about it.

post pics!!!
you just gonna glue it on ?
Did not have time to do it today. Looks like I will be doing it Friday or Thursday night.
The vinyl has some mild adhesion which comes off easy (when I decide to take the overlay off) with some rubbing alcohol.
I had a chance to actually look at my roof today, and it seems like the weather stripping will be sort of a problem. I'll have to cut more than the roof, trim away a little bit, then tuck the ends under the stripping.
