Default Detailed the Z this weekend

I wanted to get the Z detailed before it turned too cold.

Process:
Wash w/ Meguiar's Gold Class
Clay w/ Clay Magic
Optimum Compound via LC Purple Foam Wool Pad to remove some waterspots
Optimum Polish via LC White Pad
Meguiar's #21 via LC Blue Pad
Tires dressed with Number One Dressing
Windows cleaned with Stoner's Invisible Glass

Looks great! Good job and products.

did you try the white pad first with optimum to see if water spots came out? I wouldn't think you had to pull out the purple wool.

Thanks! I've tried both white and orange pads in the past. The people over on Autopia suggested I try the purple wool. It didn't get them all the way out after two passes, but it's much better.

those must be some really bad water spots. I had some bad ones on the Z but nothing a white pad with light cut polish won't take out. You should try some Chemical Guys water spot remover to see if that would help. Either way, good job on the car and it looks great.

Yeah, they've been on there since I got the car, and it only had 13,000 miles on it I didn't know how many passes I could make with the OC and the purple wool so I stopped after two passes.

Thanks for the kind words.

Very nice!

Is that M21 v.1 or v.2?
How has it held up for you in Az?
I've been using v.1 on my wife's black Jeep Wrangler and it seems to do a great job as far as longevity.

I am not sure if it is v.1 or v.2, I am thinking it's the v.2 though. It holds up awesome for me, but I am in AL, not AZ. I was actually discussing longevity with a buddy this weekend. I think part of how well it has held up for me is due to how often I wash the car. I think I last polished the car around March of this year and it still beads like crazy. My microfiber is barley damp after I get done drying the car because so much of the excess water slides right off.

Sorry, I saw UofA and thought U of Az.

Anyways, that's pretty much my impression of M21. Easy to use, pretty good longevity, and a healthy shine.

Yep, that's why I haven't felt the need to try anything else. I have been pleased with it.
