Question Clear Bra Installer in Southern California?

Hello!

I would like to get a clear bra installed on my new Z as soon as possible. Does anyone know of a competent and experienced installer in the Southern California area?

Hello, I am an installer for the product, but I primarily do work in NJ, NY, CT, PA, and Florida. From time to time I have come out to the West Coast to do work for people.

If you need this done immediately go to this website:

http://www.invinca-shield.com/index.htm

There you will be able to do a search by installers, and distributors in your immediate area. If you have any questions or need any additional advice, you are more than welcome to e-mail me at: carcrafters@comcast.net I have been installing for 4 years now, and it is very important that you choose someone who is competent.

Make sure that you check out the work that any installer has done on other cars, or ask them for references. Anyone who is a professional will not mind giving you credible references, or show you examples of their work.

Good Luck!

Envisage Design Labs is located in Torrance. My car was the 2nd or 3rd install they did on a 350z, and it came out well. Edre was really pleasant to deal with, and offered very competetive pricing. It's been almost a year since the install, and I'm still pleased with the results. Were I to do it again, I probably wouldn't get the side mirrors done... there's no need. I opted not to have the hood done, and have paid the price in a dozen or so rock chips. However, I don't have a line across my hood, either... Just get the bumper done.. that's my advice. If you can deal with a line on your hood, get that done as well.

What color is your Z? Will I notice a line even though I have White Z?

My Z is red. My understanding is that metallic silvers and charcoals are the best at concelaing the clear bra. Black and white are among the worst. However, since PPW is creamy and pearlescent, it may look just fine. Regardless of color, you will see a line across your hood, if you choose to have the hood done - it only covers the front 1-2 feet, not the entire hood, so the edge of the bra will be visible. There will also be a slight differenece in surface texture; the bra material is not as smooth as a good coat of paint. While many panels on my car have slight orange peel, the hood was nearly perfect. I couldn't bear the thought of interrupting this beautiful panel with a line, so I left the hood bare... now it has many rock chips. Life is full of compromises...
I would advise you to ask around on this forum to see if other PPW owners have been happy with the clear bra. Edre is also a good soure of info on the subject, as he has done many installs on Zs.
Good luck!
Mika

Thanks ... The guy who has been emailing me off list swears that the PPW clear bras look the best. He has done 71 Zs and 78 G35's. He says that when he does the hood, he does the entire hood, as well as the mirrors, the fenders, the bumper, and half of the roof.
