Default How long does it take to put ur car in showroom condition?

I received my Zaino products last Friday and gave my Z the first shower. It took me almost 2 hrs just to wash and dry. I used Dawn liquid detergent for the 1st wash and then followed by Z-7. By the time I finished wiping/drying the car with microfiber towel, it's already too dark (I started washing at 6pm PST because yesterday was too hot). I wanted to polish with Z5 and Z2 so bad.

To do it the way I want it to be done, it'll take me a little over 8 hours to get through everything, so I'll split up the work over two days.

It can be done while I'm at work.

I've got a guy that will come wash and detail my car in the parking lot while I'm working.

I bring my Zaino wash and products, and he will take care of it for me.

I'm thinking of splitting the job to 2 days too but where should i stop? If I were to apply polish/wax the next day, must I cover the car completely overnight? It's quite dusty at where i live. Has anyone done this?

It took me about 8-10 hours, but including a 1 hour break. I started at roughly 9am, washed and soaped it up (about 3 times) and dried it before it got hot outside, then applied wax, let it sit while I cleaned the engine bay, then when engine bay was done, removed wax, then did about 7-8 coats of polish/show car gloss. I have a few pictures.. This one came out too dark, but you get the point on how clean it was.

I don't have 8 hrs to spend in a day and I don't have the gut to let a stranger wash/detail my car. I guess I'll have to sacrifice some sleep and move fast.

I stop after I've washed the car, and detailed the engine bay. The second day I Zaino and do the interior while I wait for the Zaino to "set." (That is, if I'm not using the EFX stuff.)

Thanks for the good advice. Some ppl suggested to use Armor All to clean the interior and some said that's a bad idea. I'm just using a damp microfiber towel.

I personally don't like Armorall--it leaves the interior all greasy and shiny, which can make reflections while driving quite annoying.

And I just realized, this should be in the detailing section. My bad.

I do this once a month, maybe month and half. I generally spend an hour a week otherwise keeping it moderately clean.

When you say showroom, you have to remember that it's cleaning every nook and cranny, including the inside of the rim, which by itself will take you over and hour if you do it good.

If you just looking for it to be moderately clean, I say wash it well, maybe 2 times, then apply 1 coat of wax, and maybe an after polish if you feel the need, clean the rims, and apply some wet tire. That should take about 1 hour to 1 hour and a half depending how fast you are.

If you are showing off the car, clean the engine, which takes another 30-45 minutes.

Just my 2 cents though

PS- don't forget to clean the exhaust tips!

I had Crystal Guard on my car and found it to be just ok. It maybe faster, but people who care about their car only go with the best! Zaino!

OH man I just did a major detail and I only did the outside, started at around 10 and I just finished and it's 8:30 already (had a big break to run lotta errands from 2-5) so you could say almost 10 hours on just a car, haha. and funny part is my car is white, lol.

Only if I actually took my wheels off to clean them and waxed them too, that would've been nutz.

I'm not sure if you guys have heard of Griot's Garage, but I stand by their products 110%. I quite a bit of the detailing products and they ACTUALLY work I'd recommend you guys to check it out if not for the detail products then just for typical car care things would be nice www.griotsgarage.com
