Default Z-5/ZFX Overnight

Can I leave the Z-5/ZFX mixture on my car overnight? I know I can leave the Z-2, but I am not sure about the Z-5 /ZFX mixture. It is like 40-50 degrees outside, and will warm up to 70 tomorrow.

My car is in a garage.

Or, should I wait until tomorrow, or would it be best to do it tonight and let the Z-5 sit overnight?

I don't see a problem with doing so. It is a waste of ZFX if you plan on doing it this way. Your weather seems warm enough, especially with you having a garage. NM weather gets down to the mid 40's this time of year on a regular basis, but get up to high 70's or low 80's

I do the overnight thing with Z5 and Z2 without ZFX quite often. I think the overnight drying gives a nice, perhaps a better shine. You are not rushing it. You know it is dry. I believe either Dr Bonz of Zaino Sal suggests using ZFX on a regular basis, (i.e. every few applications) for the "bonding" effect of the Zaino Polish.

If someone had not been at the front door, would have posted before your last post. You could have done your thing. Sorry!

During the dead of winter I had to use ZFX if I was going to do the overnight application and morning buffing deal. It took 3 days for plain Z2 to cure on my car once when we had a string of 40 degree days.

Stupid ?, but do you need to use ZFX with Z-2 or use it only with Z-5.

I know ZFX cures it faster, but thought i would ask.

ZFX is used with Z-2 and Z-5. It only HAS to be applied for the first application, twice a year or every 10 coats of polish. However, I prefer to use the ZFX every time whether I'm applying Z-2 or Z-5.

Yes, you can leave polish on the car overnight without any problems and buff it off in the morning. You want to use up any ZFX/polish mix within 12 hours, 6 hours is even better. After a time the mix goes back to just polish and you have wasted the ZFX if it hadn't been applied to the car. Only mix up what you have time to apply.

To reinforce Kevin V's comment, I have left Zaino/ZFX combination on a car for over a week before I removed it. I had absolutely no problems removing. It was the same as leaving it on for a few hours.

This sounds crazy, but I find that when I leave Z5 OR Z2 on over night, the shine is more wet like than if I remove it an hour or two later.
Use ZFX esp if it is below 70 in the garage. I use ZFX about 90% of the time.

BillR, that is not as crazy as you think. I have seen it myself. I have notived the shine, when using ZFX seems to be better about 12 hours later.

Just make sure you don't do ZFX and leave it outside in the sun. You'll get streaks that are tough to remove. Takes a lot of buffing!
