so i jus detailed the Z today and i noticed how bad of shape my headlights are in. they are all oxyidized not too clear anymore. has anyone had the experiance of polishing their headlights and recommend any products to use. they look terrible i have to do something. car is an 05 with 45k on the clock. i wouldn't expect this much wear and tear on the front end so soon, not to mention my front bumper being trashed by rock chips

looks the the 3m is a 3 step process and the meguairs is a 1 step polishing. i think im gunna try the meguairs first and see if im satisfied. does anyone know where to pick this up besides online? i kinda wanna do it later today. i'll be sure to take some before and after pics

The only three steps that I used were put on cloth, rub around, wipe off.
I hated the Mequiar's. The polishing tool disintegrated on me. I just used the 3M Polishing compound and a cloth.
You can get either at AutoZone.

True. The meguires could've had a better pad but overall I had great results.
OP you can pretty much get all these at your local parts store

no google 3m headlight restoration kit. comes with 500 grit, 800 grit, and 3000, than polishing compound.
i got this product at my local auto parts store. it was pads with dry compound already on them. throw them on a drill and add some water with a spray bottle and go to town. it cleaned the lenses up a bit, but im not totally happy with the results though.i still got little nicks thoughout the lenses. i think im gunna order the 3m kit online since chances are slim i'll find it anywhere local.
I used the Meguairs Plastix compound. Doesn't come with pads though so i don't know what ya'll are talking about. Clears them up pretty well, but I gotta hit them up every 2-3 months or so....depending on how much sun/inclimate weather they get

I've seen both the Meg's and 3M kits at Wal-mart. The Meg's is with the general auto waxes but the 3M is further down the aisle with the auto body fillers, paints, etc.
