How Often Do You Wax Your Z?
So I'm just wondering, how often do you wax your Z? I have or have had mine waxed once or twice a month since I have had it. At one point my Dad loved my car so much he kept taking it to get waxed for 3 straight weekends! Just finished a wax yesterday and with the heat it's troublesome but it sure does pay off!
Black Nismo Z... Looks gorgeous when waxed... You can see the blackness shine! Haha that's probably why your dad was so into waxing the car.
Anyways, how often do i wax... I wax every time i wash my car, which is once every few months.... You don't really NEED to wax your car every weekend... Some wax like carnauba wax lasts shorter than synthetic wax, but is shinier. But wax generally can last at least a month.

but you guys are doing that in 1 month. How long timewise does it take you?
I usually wax my Z car about every 10 weeks, combined with a major 2 day detail in the Spring & the Fall.

Being that my car is outside(Was outside) in the Florida sun.. I would wash at least once a week, wax 1 a month, and polish/clay bar 4 times a year. I use the Griot's system as it's not complicated and is very easy on the paint. OP I would also like to add that I also depends on what type of wax your using too, most synthetic based waxes tend to last longer but loose "depth" within the first couple of weeks. The Griot's Best of show wax has a very good Carnuba base and though it may not protect as long as the synthetics... it looks better, longer. I would suggest a quality "Spray and wipe" product in between washes to still give it that just waxed look. I don't believe the Spray and wipe will extend the wax protection as some like to think but it does go a long way in appearance.
The car looks great but I wouldn't deal with a black car ever again... I was the lead detailer at a Lexus dealer for tooooo long and neglected black cars made me cringe.
It would be good idea for the guys who've posted to include what products are being used:
-Griot's Car Wash(Boar's Hair Brush... let it soak for 10mins before you use it)
-Griot's Clay bar
-Griot's Machine Polish 3(applied with RA and Orange Polish Pad)
-Griot's Best of Show Wax (applied with RA and Red Polish Pad)
-Griot's Speed Shine
-Water Sprite Chamois
-Griot's Microfiber cloths

I wash mine at least once a week, she stays clean for the most part. I use mothers carnuba wax for carbon fiber pc buffer, black magic quick detailer for the paint.
