CrystalGuard: Say Good-Bye to WAX TODAY!!
For you guys that are letting it sit for 45min or longer after you apply the crystalgaurd: Does it not leave water spots all over the car? If so do they come off when you re-wet the car?
I've put three coats on but I havn't let it sit for more than like 5 min. cause after I apply the crystalgaurd and spread it with a microfiber, it leaves milky water spots on the car which I am afraid to let dry.

No more answers from me because my request for a sticker was ignored. I feel like a beaten step child!
Actually, I have never had any water spots and we have real hard water here which is partly why I never washed my car here till CGQ.
Great pic! You deserve a decal/sticker too!

OK, you guys. Wander over to this poll Battle of the Polymers/Waxes and see if you can guess the product correctly.
The application is on a Pikes Peak White (mine). Think a PPW can't shine like the dark colors?
By the way Tako since you ARE the "Crystal Gaurd Guru" just for grins and giggles please post a reply.
Clayton
btw... not trying to steal anybodys thread, this IS, afterall, the Crystal Guard thread and where everyone should address their CG questions, it's just a poll as part of the fun of ownig a Z and this great web site.
(hint: it's obviously not the Turtle Wax.)

Quick question. 1st I wash my car. Then when it is still wet I spray on CG quick. Then I spread CG quick with a microfiber cloth. Now do I spray the car again with water then dry it? Or do I just dry it? Thanks
1. wash ( CGW or equivelant)
2. Spread CGQ thinly to a haze, (make sure it hazes)
3. Rinse
4. Carefully dry in straight lines starting at the roof and work your way down.
Make sure that the car is wet when apllying CG with your Microfiber even if you have to do half a car at a time.
My expereince has been letting it sit on awhile drying and bonding produces better results than a quick rinse.
Remember what Tako keeps saying. It will look better the next day after it sits and the more coats the better.
My car speaks for itself (and would speak for Crystal Guard too if they sent me a decal)
It rained on my car *all night* last night. It was a storm!
I drove it home at over 100mph (call it a blow dry.)
Woke up and looked at it, looks brand new, no water spots.
I just considered it a free rinse (the rain.)

Tonight was very interesting. I went to the studio for band practice. There is a dirt road to get there. After giving rides in the new Z, I had traveled at least a mile on the dirt road. Albuquerque is VERY dusty......Black car on dirt road=bad.
When i got home and pulled in the garage I noticed something. Hardly and stuck to the car. I got out the Calif. car duster and wiped her down and in less than 2 min it looked like I just washed it.
I have 2 applications of CG. I just sent for 2 more bottles. One is a gift for my friend who just got a G35.
THANK YOU Crystal Guard. I am now an official CG junky.

I guess I put it on wrong, cause I just was not impressed.
I washed with Griots car wash, sprayed on the CG, and spread with a microfiber, which basically dried the car and left water spots. So I rinsed again and dried it and it wasn't any shinier so I just waxed with Zaino.

It says in the instructional video that its best to have a washbed area and also not to apply the chemicals in direct sunlight....well...I dont exactly have access to that, and about the only way I can apply it out of direct sunlight is in my garage. But that's not going to happen, since my garage is already packed as it is....What precautions should I take, if any, on doing it in my driveway?? Thanks for the help.
Please note that in the instructional video on the website....the downloadable one with CrystalJim doing the commentary....that is intended primarily for professional detailers.
The shorter videos are actually more for the home detailer.
The bottom line is that any time you apply anything to a car surface, it is generally recommended that you do so in a shaded area away from direct sunlight.
This is to prevent rapid drying, and streaks generated by sun and heat.
....or so my daddy used to tell me....
