Default Clear Bra expectations

Had a local installer do mine $700 full kit and there are some bubbles here and there. There is even a samll speck of a pebble stuck between the film and the paint. There are also some fold marks that he tried to smooth out, but all in all it looks like a bad window tint job. He claims that once it cures in the sun that it will stretch out and be smooth. I am very reluctant to beleive it. He does offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee, but before I take him up on the offer, I just want to know is the 3M film that difficult to put on and am I expecting too much from the install. Am I too **** or could I expect the same kind of quality as my windows tint.

Most of the imperfections you see will cure with time. Drive with your headlights on and park in the sun for a couple weeks. Since its winter it may take longer to cure due to the cold weather.

Dunno about the pebble tho, looks like that was an added bonus

Yes, you should wait awhile and see what happens. The plastic will actually shrink and tighten as well as some of the underlying liquid will evaporate.

Agree with Zwindsor, but the pebble and folds should not be there. Just use common sense about what would disappear and what would not. For example, places where the bra is folded over itself or even creased most likely will not dissapear (depending on severity). My kit too had one area where you could tell that it used to be folded in that particular region, but I have not noticed that ever since the first week or so after my install. Also it matters on what color car you have. Mine is Silverstone so its easy to conceal all the impurities; other colors are easier to see the flaws on. The bubbles should also disappear as long as they are not overly large size.

Really? The bubbles will go away. That must be completely different from a windows tint, because the bubbles stay with those. Thanks for all the replies, I will patiently look forward to those imperfections going away.

I don't know whether your problems will go away on their own, but I can tell you that my clear bra was perfection from the get go. I'm not sure your install was as good as it could have been, but I hope I'm wrong!

Has anyone ever looked at your clear bra with Polarized sunglasses on? You can see all kinds of stuff that you can't see with the naked eye...its weird.

yes 3M can be VERY difficult to work with, especially on the 350Z, it has some very challenging features. like has been said, the creases and the sand wont go away and you should take them up on their warantee. Even the best of us miss a spot now and then, just make sure they stand by their work and make you happy, let us know how it goes!

I agree with krinov, the sand will definetely NOT go away. How could it?

The bubbles might go away. I am not sure about the creaes, depends on how bad they are.

I say bring it back and let em make it right.
