Default Need suggestions on car wax / zaino

Folks need your help as i never spent time in my life to clean a car...and now i decided to take care of my car myself instead of going to car wash.

I read some posts online and people suggested many things on car wax and zaino.

whats the difference between wax and zaino? Is zaino a brand name?

I dont have a garrage to park my car so can anyone suggest me on how and with which products can i do car wax...

I have a 06 touring red line...

Zaino is just another brand. Like Mothers. Any wax works, it's personal preference/brand loyalty.

I presume there's no difference between garaged/un-garaged except for how frequently you have to apply the wax. I would do it twice as frequently as someone with a garage. If your car lost its shine and feels rough, wax it.

Good for you!
I'm glad you are joining thousands of Z owners that enjoy detailing their own cars.
They would not have it any other way.
If I can suggest, don't take washing/polishing/waxing too seriously.
Its no big deal.In fact, can be very theraputic.
Keep in mind that cars these days have much better paint, clearcoats that keep
the finish pretty stable.Of course,if like you say, your car is not garaged or at least
under cover,it is a negative.Various brands like the one you mentioned are varied.
Every owner I know(including myself)has a favorite. You'll find that easy to find brands
such as Mcquires work just as good as the high priced boutique products.Red cars
traditionally suffer from oxidation.Clearcoating has vastly improved this. So,buy some good car wash(I use Autoglym),some well known polish...try a few brands, see which ones are easy to apply.Don't water spot.
Ask around, check with your regional forum what guys find work in your area.

Have fun.

My 350Z is black but my previous car was red. Like yourself, my cars are kept un-garaged all year round through the sunny summer and cold winter.

Since I bought my 350 I have been using light polishes (different brands) with my Porter Cable every few months to remove all the swirls etc. I then use Klasse Sealant to seal the paint and give it that wet look. I find when leaving my car outside all the time this sealant tends to last a few months depending on conditions. My car is also parked under a large maple tree, so when it is sapping it just eats through any wax or sealant I put on it.

Now, with that red car. I would recommend using the Klasse All In One cleaner before applying the sealant. You can apply both by hand and get the same results. Klasse AIO Cleaner will give your red car that deep wet look while filling some of the swirls and minimizing scratches. Then seal it with the sealant and it will last for quite some time.

My favourite part, with the sealant you use so little that it will last you years. So it is extremely cheap. This is what I have found to work best for me. But like mentioned already, it really comes down to personal preference. Good luck!

Klasse Sealant can be very particular. I've been using that on silver cars for a while and it's not easy if you want too long to buff out. Klasse AOI and Sealant Glaze are great products and you can do no wrong by using them. If your car has been outside for a while I definitely recommend doing a claybar.

Blackfire is a great product. Dodojuice has some waxes specifically for warm colored cars, but I think I'd go with a sealant just so you have some extra protection. Heck, if you don't really want to spend too much time with it then go for NXT 2.0 or Ultimate Wax. They're easy and durable.

============================================================ ==

If you're going nuts with it then you'll need to prep:
1. Wash
2. Clay (most people wash again afterwards, not always necessary)
3. Polish (clean / remove or fill swirls)
4. Sealant/Final
5. LSP(optional coat over sealant like a carnuba).

Options:
Wash-Clay+RinselessWash as Lube-Klasse AOI-Klasse Sealant(optional)
Wash-Clay-Ultimate Polish-Ultimate Wax
Wash-Clay-Klasse AOI-Dodo Juice Orange Crush(optional)
Wash-Clay-Autoglym SRP-Chemical Guys Black Light-Hybrid V7(my next detail is this)

Have fun and it's hard to go wrong if you're using non-abrasives.

Zaino folks will tell you it's the end all be all. It's a good product, but I don't know about layering it 500 times.

I haven't tried this, but it's getting some good reviews for durability. It would require a correction to be done to your vehicle prior to applying. It also doesn't seem to be for the newbie to detailing.

+1 on the Claybar - Makes such a huge different when you swipe your hand across your panels and it feels damn smooth rather than all the gritty-ness you usually feel.
