My polished lips on my wheels are taking a beating!! There are already tons of little hairline scratches all over them. What are you guys doing to combat this?

If they are clear coated you can use a polish then keep them waxed..Dirt comes off easier too..only use soap and water to clean!!!If the are not learcoates you can use a metal polishing wheel or some Never Dull...Treat you wheels like you cars paint!!

I have aftermarket wheels with silver painted spokes and polished, clear coated lips. I currently have 4 coats of Zaino on them. It seems to help with dirt and brake dust, but they still get scratches on the lips.

thats somewhat to be expected for any highly polished surface that is so close to the street.

your paint is no where near as shiny and that has the same scratches just not as noticable.

If the lips are clear coated they are probably getting scratched by the brake dust laying on them and then thru washing or wiping them off the metal dust is scratching the clear coating, get some mild polishing compound made for paint in the 3M Swirl Mark Remover part number 39009 and even out the scratches and then put on some coats of Zaino Z-5.

If your wheels are clear coated see my post directly above yours, if your wheels are polished bare metal use a metal polish like Mothers Billet Polish.
