Default Washing car today - Quick questions

I've had my SuperBlack for a week now. Its time for her first wash. I have Zaino polishes and I'm gonna wait till I order towels from www.dftowel.com to wax her. What car wash, what type of sponge, and what kind of towels (being used just to dry her) should I buy? I want to do this today, so I don't have time to order anything.

I'm assuming the df towels are necessary to avoid swirl marks when waxing, but just drying with any towel shouldn't cause swirl marks, correct?

Thanks in advance your help. My Z thanks you too.

I am a stocking DF towel distributor and I can send them to you from TN on Monday, they should be there in a day or two.

You should use the Zaino Z-7 car wash to wash it with. If it has been waxed or polished with any other kind of wax or polish other than Zaino you will need to wash it first with Dawn to strip off the other kind of wax or polish.

If I where you I would go to NAPA and guy one of their all cotton washing mits, they are what I use and are very good. Every vehcile I have is black. DO NOT use a sponge what ever you do on black, just asking for horrible swirls... You can also use The Absorber to dry with until you get the DF towels, it is sold at WalMart and a good unit to have on hand and good to travel with also.

OHHHH nooo, not correct, most of the people that I have helped have done MORE damage in drying their car with crappy towels than anything....

I will send you a PM...

ya, for superblack owners, the never ending battle with swirlmarks sucks. You need to get good microfibre towels for washing/drying/waxing in my opinion. I ordered towels from www.dftowel.com and their top quality and the only towels i would consider using on my Z. For waxing, i would suggest doing a couple coats at least of Z5 first before you apply Z2. It will fill what few swirl marks you have already and the shine is great. And as Kevin said, never use a sponge.

Should be fine if you can some that are soft enough, I still like to use The Absorber however..

BTW-
If you value your washer & dryer at home, take your towels to a laundrymat for washing. The dry @ home. Works great.

Brake dust sucks.

The Absorber works well. The dftowels are FANTASTIC for polishing and applying/buffing Z6. The "new" polish applicator from dftowel is much better than anything else I have used for Z5 and Z2. For drying, you might want to consider "BigBlue" from pakshak.com.

Do not use the same cloth on your wheels as you use on the paint, doing so would rub metallic brake dust particles into the paint. What I do is use some kind of disposable wipes or shop cloths on my wheels to wipe off the brake dust.

That's a good tip. Also, work from top to bottom when washing. This is critical on a black car. Dirt from the wheel well area will lodge in your sponge/mitt and swirl up the paint. I just finished my 3 coats of Zaino Z5, with coats of Z6 in between each today. I'm debating whether or not to even put on Z2 tomorrow.
