Eagle 1 metal polish drying out
Today I was cleaning and polishing my Stillen TD exhaust and noticed the Eagle 1 Nanopolish I used was drying out. While the container was tightly sealed, the polish itself has become drier over the years and I had to use my rag to buff it into the surface to work. Still does a good job, but for how much longer?
Tried to contact the manufacturer, but they have NO contact info on their website. Anybody have any ideas? Still have 2/3 of the container left and I hate throwing away chemicals that might still have some utility left.

Probably 8-10 years old, I'd guess. I originally bought it to clean and polish my BBS wheels. The round container doesn't have any chemical listings on it and it's possible its simply going. Too bad, as the compound still works fine.

Well, I may have to try something else if this product dries out. One factor may be that I store this in my Colorado garage which sees freezing and hot temperatures throughout the year. Thanks for the replies.

It's a shame you can't just add water to it.. those compounds are usually held together with either grease or wax, and neither will 'reconstitute' by adding water.
They will dissolve, however, with such things as naptha, acetone or laquer thinner, but unfortunately these will not necessarily restore the qualities of the part that you're trying to restore/protect. You may have to just buy more.

The problem with water is it'll freeze and form ice crystals in the polish. After much searching, I found a way to send a message asking for some advice on nano-polish. Eagle One has been incorporated into the Energizer Battery Company, so who knows if there's anyone who can even answer this question. I'll update this thread if and when I get any sort of answer...

Before you close the container, put plastic wrap over the product and then close the lid over it. It'll create an air tight seal that will keep the solvents from evaporating.

Have you tried adding castor oil?
Hey, if it cleans one's insides out, why wouldn't it work in this polish?
Disclaimer: Please don't anyone try this. I hate having to clarify my odd sense of humor.

Well, the answer arrived today in the mail. A tin of Eagle One "Never Dull" wadding polish showed up gratis. I guess the answer is to provide a new product to clean and polish metals with. It even smells like the Nano-tech polish in a larger container with all the impregnated wadding. Guess we'll see how it performs...

Ah Mic, thanks but that wasn't necessary! I wasn't being a tightwad either. Just wanted something to make my nano-polish last for a few more years. LOL
I'll try it on my BBS wheels (maybe throw some nano-polish on as well) to try and get some of those brake pad stains out. Thanks again!

Frankly have no clue what "wadding polish" is but closest thing I could find. I have some kind of metal polish out in the garage but honestly, rarely, if ever, use it. Don't have anything shiny enough to use it on. My exhaust tips and polished valve cover on my SRL I guess....

Here's my review of Mic's gift. Today I tried out the Eagle One "Never Dull" wadding polish and found it worked fine on my BBS RgR alloys. No scratches or discoloration from the cotton wadding, but it really couldn't remove the tougher brake pad stains and was about as effective as the nano-tech polish. But rather than throw out my old towels or cut-up socks, you just throw the wadding away.
Fingers and hands get pretty black from using either product, as the polish seems to create black stains from the process. But it's effective and disposable, so I give it 3 1/2 (out of five) apple rating for cleaning polished or anodized metal surfaces.

David,
Try Sonax "Total Effect" for embedded brake dust. Best stuff out there. Spray, agitate, rinse and then polish if necessary. Smells like a*s but I trust it on my RPF1s if I neglect them.
