Question - Best long lasting finish combo?
I may get linched for saying this, but I hate having to polish and wax...it's a pain in me ****!...I have a black 350z and I want a long lasting yet great looking finish without having to spend every other weekend rewaxing. Plus I figure the less I lay hands on the finish the less I'll manage to screw it up. It's a 2 month old car but the paint already has some minor swirls/spiderwebs because I suck at this hehe.
I figured I would start with a good cleaner like P21S Paintwork Cleanser, OR Meguier's Medallion Premium Paint Cleaner
I hear the following combinations are good alternatives to the classic polish / carnuba combo that will last longer but still give great shine and depth:
Klasse All-In-One with
Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze
OR Meguiar's Paste Wax #16
OR
Zaino Z-5 with Zaino Z-2
What do you folks think of my choices? good? bad? give up and take it to a detailer? go buy a grey car?

Zaino, I have about 25 coats and the car looks beautiful. Everytime I bring the car back to the dealership, they admire the finish. I think Zaino is the best car polish I have ever used.
OR
Zaino Z-5 with Zaino Z-2

It looks like lew f replied within your question--reread...he recommends Zaino.
I hear that Zaino should last about 5 months before reapplying.
I've just tried it myself, so I'll find out as well.

Oh you're right...I didn't even notice......here's another question...I read Zaino's application recomendations on their website...it sounds like to do this right I need maybe 2 coat's of the Z-5...then at least 1 more of the Z-2....if I read their site right it sounds like that will take all weekend because of the drying times....any thoughts? Because if that's true I'm deffinatlely going with the Klasse products.....
I applied just one coat of Z5/ZFX then ran out of sunlight. I think only one layer of Z5, or Z2 is really all that's required. The rest of the layers are to add the "mile deep" shine.
Also, when using the Z5/ZFX, or Z2/ZFX combo, the drying time is way less--maybe 30 minutes depending on temp and humidity.
Myself, I'm planning on adding another layer of Z5 tomorrow just because I have some left in my mixing bottle.
Again, though, my understanding is that a single layer of Zaino is all that's needed for 5 months of protection.

From what I read about the Meg paint cleaner, it is mild scratch remover. I would only use it in places that have scratches.
Then, for protection, I would use Zaino all the way.
I love the durability and shine.
I haven't had a chance to apply a coat in months and every time I wash, it still beads great.

how about crystal buard pro kit. It's a little bit expensive but it will eliminate your waxing routine. Apply pro kit and just replenish it ever 3 months with CG quick. It is also by far the best looking sealant i've used. If you have a dark colored car you will be amazed on how well this product will enhance it's reflectivity and gloss. Nxt tech wax will be the second choice, it gives a nice wet look but durability is still unknown. But if you really hate waxing, you should really look at crystal guard.
I've not used CGPro. However, I did try CG Quick and was disappointed with it compared to the brilliant shine, reflectivity and durability of Zaino.
Zaino still shines over NXT:

I have used both CG and Zaino and I found that Zaino without question, lasts longer. In every study I have seen that addresses durability, Zaino has come out on top. I do not think there is any product that lasts, and protects like Zaino.
As for CG, it did shine pretty nicely but it wasn't that "deep" shine that you get with Zaino. I have heard that black car owners seem to like CG and perhaps that is where it "shines" (pun intended).

I now use Blackfire new car kit (2 step process), it is difficult to appreciate the wet shine look since my Z is a chrome silver, but the sheet metal feels slick to touch after 3 month of weekly washing.

It takes me 20 minutes to put one coat of Z2 on the car. Make sure the finish is clean before you wax. Walk away from it and come back about an hour later (drying can take a little longer if the humidity is high or shorter if it's low) and wipe it off. Put on the Enhancer (Z5) after you have polished the car.
I normally will put the polish on the night before and quickly wipe it off the next morning.
The applications are very easy and the shine deep and long lasting

Guru magazine did and article on waxes. They rated 0ver 40 brands. Zaino came out as the best synthetic. It's a great product.
The compared 46 brands and Zaino came out as the best PERIOD! Not just synthetic.
The Z-5 isn't really "enhancer" it is a polish that shines nearly as well as the Z-2 which is more "optically pure". It is used to fill in minor swirlmarks. I usually do at least one layer of Z-5 and always finish with a layer of Z-2. I think maybe you mis-typed and meant to say Z-6 as the gloss enhancer. That goes on before your first layer of polish, between all your other layers, and after you are done polishing.
If you mix in the ZFX "flash cure" you can have the layer you just applied dry in less than an hour. It doesn't have to take you all weekend.

I stand corrected, you are right on! But at the end of the day, Zaino is the best.
