how do you clean your aftermarket wheels?

Default how do you clean your aftermarket wheels?

hi guys,

i was wondering what you guys use to clean your nice/expensive aftermarket wheels?....soap and washing material.
also, is there anything i should or shouldnt do when washing wheels with a polished lip?

I only use car wash and water on custom wheels myself, I never use those strong acid cleaners you spray on and hose off, I am a hands ON person, no quickie jobs for me. If they are bare metal with no clear coat I would use Mothers Billet Polish to keep them shining and then always keep a coat of wax or polish you use on your paint on them....

Try P21s wheel cleaner. I prefer the gel. It's the standard for show cars.

See if a board sponsor sells it or visit Bizrate for retailers.

soap, water, rag.

done atleast every other week Ive never found dirt it cant remove.

im sure im gonna get laughed at for asking this,
but is it safe to use rag on the polished lip?

since im already getting laughed at heres one more,
is it a good idea to clay bar the polished lip?

No harm in claybarring at all. As far as the "rag" goes, I'd suggest a good, plush microfiber.

Just make sure to turn the clay bar often so dirt wont scratch the polished lip.
