If you would like to apply Z2 or Z5 and remove within minutes Vs hours, get ZFX additive. If Zaino is going to be your car care product of choice, get Z6 and Z7 also. Take at zainobros.com for a complete explanation or each of these products.

You have to have EITHER Z-1 or ZFX to activate the Z-2 OR the Z-5. Z-1 is used once per six months as is ZFX at a bare minimum, If I could get one or two more products it would be the Z-6 and Z-18 if you do not already have a clay bar...........

Zaino will NEVER get rid of swirl marks. The best it will do is hide them and it doesn't do that very well, especially on dark cars.

Your best bet would be to use a Porter Cable with some Meguires #9 or if you have real bad swirl marks get some 3M swirl mark remover.

Actually Meguiars #9 doesn't contain any abrasives but fillers. I would say use something like 3m smr or the menzerna twins to remove those imperfections.

If using the ZFX additive you can do 3 back to back coats in a single day. The ZFX/Z-5 combo also helps fill the swirls better. Since Zaino stacks and lasts VERY long, the more coats the less swirls you have. To me it is better than removing clearcoat to get down to the bottom of the swirls. The next major thing is to make sure that the supplies you use and your technique are not constantly putting in new swirls.

No you can go back and forth between Z-2 or Z-5 whenever. I mostly use nothing but Z-5 since my car is a darker color.

I'd also recommend getting the ZFX instead of the Z-1. My son can do about 3 coats in 2 hours, but he is really quick.
