Default How far does a Claybar go?

I will be sending in my order very soon and want to know if I need to order more than one claybar.

Can you do an entire car with one bar?

The Zaino Z-18 ClayBar is (2) 2 oz bars, they are wrapped separate. I only use 1/2 of one of the 2 oz bars to clay with, this leaves 3 pieces for later use, plus the piece you do use is completely re-usable as long as stays clean and you can fold it to a fresh side all the time during use.

Unhappy i think i messed up....

i'm not sure whether or not i did a good thing... i zaino'd the headlights on my z for the first time, and now when i stare at it from some angle there appears to be a film that covers my headlights... i tried to remove the film with z6, but no success... i tried to remove the film with window cleaner, but no success... so my question is, did i mess up in applying zaino to my headlights? i read that it's safe for all smooth surfaces... can someone let me know if it's all in my head? thanks...

Well I zainoed my headlights, and I haven't noticed a problem, but I haven't looked that hard. If you want to take it off, Z6 would actually have the opposite affect! I think the film you're seeing is the zaino itself, and the Z6 will only enhance it, not remove it. If you don't want the film, you would technically have to take it off with Dawn liquid dishwashing detergent, which will clean off zaino. That would be tough to do just the headlights though.

I haved used both Z-6 and Z-5 and Z-2 on my headlights and they sparkle like nothing I've ever seen. I haven't seen any film at all. I also use the Z-6 on all of the windows inside and out. All look great!

The Z-1 or ZFX needs to be used for the first application and twice a year or every 10 coats. You'll need the ZFX any time you want quicker drying time or applying multiple coats in a day. You do not need the use the Z-1 or the ZFX on glass or hard plastics, just the paint.

Kevin, I think either I'm misunderstanding you, or you may be a little off. You have to use either the ZFX or Z1 for EVERY coat you apply, otherwise the polish won't dry. If I'm wrong here, then everything I understand about how Zaino works is wrong, so please correct me. But I think this is how it goes:

The ZFX or Z-1, whichever you plan to use, does NOT have to be used with every coat. The polish alone will dry. The ZFX and Z-1 are, among other things, bonding agents to get the first coat to bond to the paint and strengthen successive layers. Used on occasion afterwards, as I described above, are the only times they have to be used. If you are using ZFX you do not need Z-1 at all.

When using Z-1, and then adding the polish over the top of it, you actually have 2 products, this increases the drying time.

When using ZFX, it is mixed with the polish and provides quicker drying time and zero curing time, in case time is a factor or you want to apply multiple coats. It also has a couple other benefits.

Z-1 or ZFX does NOT need to be used every time you want to apply a coat of polish. Personally I do use the ZFX every time because it does provide for a slightly better shine and a more durable finish, but it isn't necessary.

Ahhh ok well that's cool. I was about to ask if it was bad to use ZFX for every coat, but you answered it for me. I've used it on all of mine, and I love the quick drying time. I don't know why anybody would use Z-1 anymore.

Not many people do use the Z-1 since the ZFX was released.

And Remember..... it the Z-7 WASH and NOT the Z-6 that you drink!

And you Do NOT need to add the ZFX to EVERY bottle you drink. I personally do since it seems to bond and cure faster in the small intestine but that's just me.

If you used Dawn, it's probably residue that you didn't rinse off well. Happens if you use too much Dawn and don't rinse well. I had a nasty haze on my rear lights and bumper. Nothing Zaino removed it - in fact, I think it locked it in, so I ended up using Meguiars Medallion to remove it - it has some cleaning properties. I'll probably remove the Medallion and re-Zaino the rear when it gets warmer.

Bonz... with a Zaino slick intestine, I don't even want to know how fast food is processed...

What I'm wondering is whether Z2 would be good protection for me at the beach? Maybe a little Z5 to remove any crack and swirls from my skin...

do z2 and z5 eliminate those fine scratches that are visible only under sunlight? because after applying both, i noticed the same hair line scratches after applying and buffing off the zaino. isn't the zaino supposed to "fill in" the spaces in those tiny scratches thus eliminating the scratches under sunlight? although they're pretty hard to see, just to know that they're there disturbs me deeply. also, does the majority agree? are we not supposed to use z1 before applying a new coat of z2 or z5 if we had a put a coat on prior to that?

Right, the Z-1 is ONLY used as a first layer BEFORE the Z-2 or Z-5. And remember, you aren't supposed to even buff off the Z-1. You just put it on as a first layer before the others to "lock" it in.

Not many use the Z-1 anymore however since the ZFX additive eliminates the need for any Z-1.

I'm confused about the when to use the Z1. I just applied the Z1 and Z2 and waiting for it to dry. Next I will buff and apply Z6. If I apply a 2nd coat of Z2 do I also need to apply Z1 first?
