Default Front Bra/from coutesy Nissan

Has anyone gotten the front bra from the courtesy nissan site. If so does it fit well, and is it worth the money. I looked at the instructions, and they said that if you get it wet, you have to take it off immediately. What happens if it rains? I am contemplating either the black fabric bra from the courtesy site, or the clear bra stuff. Anyone have any opinions on which is best.

No competition, not only does the clear bra look better but the regular bras will dull the finish underneith. I never gotten the idea behine those black bras, their pont is to protect from ugly rock ships yet they are 200 times worse looking than a chip?

I have one. It's a Nissan OEM accessory. Like my other Nissan nosemask for the 300, it's a REALLY tight initial fit (it has to stretch) and initial installation can be a MAJOR pain.

When it rains, you gotta remove it and let it dry. If you let it dry on the car, then it can stick to the paint or cloud the paint.

Whenever mine gets dirty, I put it in a laundry bag and toss it in the washer & dryer (under low heat).

I usually put my nosemask on for long, highway trips.

I am debating putting a clear bra on, but for that amount of money, you could get the bumper re-painted. Besides, rock chips add character.

Michael.

I'm really glad they came out with this clear bra thing, I could of used it for my Miata. I'm definitely getting it for the Z, irregardless of how much more than a nosepiece it sets me back.

I ordered one from Courtesy - should be here tomorrow. Got my first rock chip two days after picking up my Z so the nose mask was ordered that evening. I've been considering the clear bra (x-pel or dynashield) but now I'll have to fix that chip 1st. In the meantime, the nose mask should give me a little piece of mind.

When I bought my '96 Honda Prelude (black on black), I purchased a nose mask and over the years I have many times seen rocks hit it and fly off - an obvious chip if the mask wasn't there. The mask was a very tight fit but softened and stretched over the years. I gradually got more and more lazy about putting it on after I had to take it off due to rain or washing and the front of my car suffered. I didn't research or hear about the clear bra option until recently while waiting for my Z to come in or I might have done that to my Prelude.

As far as looks - IMO a nose mask on the front still looks better than a bunch of pock marked/dinged chip spots on the front of your car. Use it on long trips or extended freeway driving for piece of mind. If you take it off when it rains or gets wet, you shouldn't have any problems with the paint. No discoloring on my Prelude and I've left it on more than once after the mask has gotten wet. Of course, don't push your luck there and take it off if at all possible when you should.

I'll post some pics after I get the nose mask and put it on my Z.

Won't own my Z until December but I have the nose mask (bra) from Courtesy already. I have had them on plenty of cars in the past.

You do have to watch out for when it is wet or when dirt is under it and rain hits it. This will scratch your paint.

Also --like Brad said --- if you can get over the way they look on a car ... They are great.

I have only used one when going on long trips and I am going to leave it in my hatch so that if a dust storm develops (Arizona -- got to love it) I can put it on the car and prevent the front of the car from being damaged too much.

Cost is a factor too. Mine being an every day driver -- After I get the first ding it will be broken in and I will shrug off the rest.
