Thumbs down A Bad Day at the dealer

Well, I went in for my second oil change today. I bought my Z about 150 miles away, so i have been having it serviced at a closer dealer, and they have always done a good job. Not this time. I Spent about 6 hours detailing/waxing yesterday. When I got my car back today, the inside was trashed, it looked like cigarette ashes were everywhere, there were muddy footprints on the door/sill/floor, and to my surprise when i got home, a nice surface scratch near the handle!

So I call Vic Nissan, and I explain to them my dissatisfaction, they offer me a 25% discount on my NEXT oil change! WOOOHOO, of course, they will not fix the scratch(es) because they can not be sure they were not already there... and....I can not expect their "mechanics" to clean their shoes for me.

Needless to say, I will be driving the 150 miles from now on!

25% off an oil change..what's that, $7.50? From the pic, it can be assumed that you take very good care of your Z...if I were you, I would take this matter further. Dealerships make the bulk of their money from the service dept, and in an economy of fierce competition, dealerships don't want to lose valuable customers. I would tell this to the service manager, explain to him your experience, and see what they plan to do to make it right. If it is not up to your satisfaction, at least he knows he lost a valuable customer, and that you can file a complaint with NNA.

Thats pathetic. If all businesses were run the way most car dealerships are, the world would be a sad sad place.

Sorry to hear about your car. I would file a complaint with NNA as joker suggested.

Post a BBB complaint, not that would help much but at least they get a ding on their record.

I went to the dealer once and watched the lame a$$ detail person get in my car without placing those paper floormats in the car.

I had to say:

1. Those floormats are there for a reason, please use them.

2. Please do not wash or detail my car in any way.

Also, aside from this, how much did it cost you to chrome your wheels? How much extra weight did it add?

Default Oh i found more!

Well, after a quick restoring of the interior, a slight buff job on the door panel, and another coat of NXT and 4 hours later, the scratches are (gone)- for now anyway, cant see them... BUT.. when i popped my hood to dry my engine bay, it is nice to see my hood prop stick is out of its socket at the bottom and only being held in by the plastic clip, wonderful, so took me another 30 minutes, and trying to figure out how to get the hood to stay up magically to fix this. I will call again tomorrow, but i am pretty sure that I talked to the service manager today.. We shall see, all I know is when Nissan sends me my survey, there will be some hell to pay when they get mine back

The Wheels: Were purchased when i bought my car at dealership from their aftermarket dept., As well as the tint job, it was a 1500 dollar option added on to price of the car, which is rather steep considering I did not even get to keep the orig. ones But I was in one of those "I want the best" moods and didn't care about cost after the 3 month wait for my Z As far as weight, I was told it would not add any great weight, nothing larger than 5-10 lbs, how true that is, I have never checked, but I love them, keeps the original look just a bit flashier

No you're right it's crazy. On my CS Touring Roadster, my sticker itemized them @ $1200 (actually they added $4000 of bs options and I got them down to $1500 for everything (Lojack, chrome grill, chrome 17" wheels).

All SoCal dealers were (and probably still are) charging $4-$10K over sticker, and my dealer was the first to actually "give" you something for it - even if the options were highly marked up.
