Default Gum residue on guage cluster

I got a slight bit of gum residue on my guage cluster, the clear plastic part. It's smudgy looking, but I've tried rubbing alcohol and that just rubs it around. What is the best way to remove the residue?

I have this shock sticker stuff, but I'm a little worried about using it b/c it says make sure to test in an in conspicuous area when using on painted surfaces or plastic.

I suggest WD-40 blotted on a soft napkin. Please test the product in an inconspicuos area, of course, but it really should work. WD-40 works great at removing adhesives.
