Default How often to use the z-18 claybar?

I just got my 350Z three weeks ago and am in LOVE! I love cleaning the car almost as much as driving it. I've just ordered Zaino z-18, z-2, z-6 and z-7.

Please tell me how often should I use the claybar on a new paint surface? Will it take off the z-2 and z-6 that I build up?

First of all, the Z-6 doesn't "build up". Z-6 is just the quick detailing mist spray.

A light claying of the paint shouldn't remove your already applied layers of Zaino. For the record, we Zaino Jedi consider only Z-2 and Z-5 as "layers". For the OLD school Zaino users you can also consider Z-3 a layer but no one uses Z-3 anymore

All I can say is that in the nearly two years I have owned my Z, I have clayed it only two times. The first was when I first got it (four days later) and clay session number two was about a year later when Zaino came out with their new formula Z-2. You really only need to do it if/when you want to get all the way down to the bare paint or when you have some sort of contaminant you want to remove (deep water spots, paint overspray, tar, etc).

Default Dr Bonz, here are the results!

Here it is after washing with dawn, a session with the clay, washing with z-7 and then three layers of z-2. Thanks for the reply Dr. Bonz; the results are great, I am going to sleep in the car tonight.

Clay each spring. You need to get some Z5 and get some ZFX to mix with that Z2 and Z5.

I got the ZFX. Does it really make a difference?

By the way, I am not planning on driving it in these Michigan winters.

Yes! Will allow the Z2 and Z5, after application, depending on temp., to be removed in approximately 30 minutes of less. Your mixing bottle is 2 ounces, so add 3-4 drops per 1 ounce. One ounce should be more than enough to do your "Z".
