Zaino Streaks! plz help
I ran through the protocal completly. The only problem I have been having is the buffing off the Z-5 and the Z-2. The white crusty haze comes right off with some buffing, but there are also areas that just leave hazy streaks. Even with considerable force and effort I can do nothing to eliminate the streaks left by the Z-5 and the Z-2. The Z-2 leaves worse streaks. I dont know wat i am doing wrong here and how i can get rid of the streaks. I leave the Z-2 and Z-5 on for plenty amount of time. Today i left the Z-2 on for 45 min at 104 deg. outside in almost 90% direct sunlight. Ill post some pics.
I used to get them too. Simply caused by putting too much Zaino on in a single application.
How much Z-2 or Z-5 are you using to do the whole car? I use 1oz to put two coats on. It takes a little practice and getting used to such a small amount going on. We apparently have a natural tendency to think that it has to be a thick visible layer. I was making that mistake, especially when doing it in the shade or in low light.
I also found out that you don't have to "scrub" those stuborn streaks, when you use the Z-6 between layers it will usually take it off pretty easily.
BTW, what was your humidity? Here in LA (the state), I notice that it is very difficult to remove when the humidity is high (> 80%) even if it is in the 90's. The other thing I discovered is that when it is real hot and humid, my hands sweat and that can get applied with the Zaino and it will be greasy and streaky.

I agree. Several problems I see here. I think you are using too much. The fact that you mentioned "white crusty haze" is evidence of this. There shouldn't be ANY crusty haze at all. You need to apply it MUCH thinner. You should be able to do the entire car with about one half to three quarters of an ounce.
Next, are you using ZFX with the Z-2 and Z-5? If you are, I recommend NOT using it in the sun. I have found that when it is really hot and sunny, the polish dries SO fast (with the ZFX added) that you can't take it off fast enough to avoid the streaks.
Try it in the shade next time. Or try it without the ZFX.
Also, if you haven't done so already, make sure you dampen your applicator with water (some even use a couple squirts of Z-6) before you apply the polish. It goes on easier and smoother.
Finally, to get rid of the streaks, just use some Z-6 and a MF towel. They usually wipe off pretty well with just this.

thx a bunch. i guess i was using too much. i was using about an once for the entire car. I also mixed 5 drops of ZFX. Next time ill take ur advise and try using a bit less and without the ZFX cause most of the time it is in the direct sun. its sometimes so hard to tell if u have used enough when u dont see any actual streaks of the stuff.
thanks for the input guys i greatly appreciate it. Also just another quick question... The clay bar... i had 3 coats previous to this one and when i clay bared the car they came right off. When i sprayed the car, the water would just sit there on the hood and not run off just like the first time i clayed the car. Should i never clay again??? Cause i remember a thread where Dr. Bonz was using the "new" stuff (the stuff i have always had) and when he clayed the layers didnt come off. Was it cause he had like elevendy billion layers and i had only 3?
thx for the help
