Default Zaino Questions?

Last time I posted I wrote about how I only had a chance at washing with dawn and claybaring it. Today, I got around to doing almost the rest. This is what I have done so far:

-Washed with dawn
-Dried car and then Claybared
-Washed car again with Z-7 and then Z-6
-After that I used the Z-5 with ZFX
-Wiped off and Z-6 again
-Then I put the first layer of Z-2 with ZFX
-Wiped off and Z-6 again

This is as far as I have gotten. Will try to finish later when I get a chance. Car is still in garage, so it should be good to go for I won't have to wash it again and just start puting on more layers. Also, had to throw a mixing bottle away because I left the Z-2 with ZFX in it for more then 12 hours. Totally forgot about it until today. Will have pictures of process posted tommorrow to show if I put the layers on thin enough. Thanks.

Looks like you are ready to proceed with:

Z5 with ZFX applied and buffed
Z6
Z5 with ZFX applied and buffed
Z6
Z2 with ZFX applied and buffed
Z6

Why Z-5 so many times? I thought you only had to put it on once and then put tons of coats of Z-2 on. Is there something I am missing? Will putting that many coats of Z-5 make it any shiner? Do you do this Dr. Bonz? Also, wanted to say that after using the Z-5, I have some marks on the factory wing and roof that look like circle spots that are on the paint. Hard to see, have to have the right light and be at the right angle to see them. Any suggestions on how to take them out. Have tried a couple things so far, and not working.

Here are some pics of how I applied the wax. Please let me know if I did it right or not, and if it is too much or just right for the amount to use. Thanks.

Here are some pics of the wasted Zaino Z-2 that dried up in the mixing bottle because my girl was all over me about getting done so I could see her before I went to work. So now I have a full mixing bottle of Z-2 to throw away. Also, how much should I put in a bottle to do about two coats worth? How much ZFX? I know Dr. Bronz would know, I really need your help for my questions so I can get a shine like yours. No one has come close so far.

Here are just some pics of it after just one layer of Zaino Z-5 and Z-2 with three layers of Z-6. Also, you can see the rust I am talking about all on the rims.

Okay, One more picture and this is of what it looked like with NXT on it. Can really tell too much of a difference yet except there is alot of steps to follow when using Zaino.

A lot of questions. I think even Doc would recommend your first applications after claying should be two coats of Z5 with ZFX, followed by one of Z2 with ZFX. Your pic's indicate you have a garage. I use to apply Z2 and Z5 without ZFX and let it dry for 8-10 hours and then remove.

You can always go back and apply Z5. I always applied Z5 after every 3-4 application of Z2. Don't waste product. The bottle is a 2 ounce bottle. Even knowing I was going to apply two coats I would only mix enough for one application or 3/4 of an ounce with 3 drops ZFX.

I preferred going side to side, not front to rear on hood and top. It looks like you applied front to rear. What's most important is, "just get Zaino on your Z"! Oh yes! Your car looks GREAT!

Yes. I do use the Z-5 before the Z-2. It's not that it makes it shinier but it takes out the swirl marks you are talking about on the stock spoiler. Do as many Z-5 layers as it takes until you are satified with the reduction/elimination of swirls than top it off with the Z-2.

As for the ZFX, I use 2-3 drops if it is hot and dry and 4-5 drops if it is colder and humid, per ONE OUNCE of Z-2 or Z-5 (that's a one half full Zaino mixing bottle).

As for the direction of application, I don't think it is critical but I do the opposite of what you posted. I do side to side on the hood (horizontal surfaces) and up and down on the doors (vertical surfaces).

I think you are applying thin enough. Looks good in your pics. Finally, the rust isn't on your rims, it's on your brake rotors and this is perfectly normal after washing your car. Drive it 30 feet or so and hit the brakes and it will be gone.

Thanks for the info. Also, how much do you fill in the bottle if you are only going to do one layer of Z-2? Do you think it will be all right to go back to what I started on the car since it has been sitting in the garage, you don't think I will have to wash it first? Also, how much Zaino do you use in a year?

Do you use a dry applicator to apply the Z-2 or Z-5 or a moist one? Also, do you rinse out the applicator with water and keep using it? I have tried it both ways. Either way, the shine is kicking @SS. Oh yeah, one more question, if you have some swirls marks, do you continue to use Z-5, coat after coat, or do you need to put a coat of Z-2 in between each z-5 coat.

The mixing bottle is 2 ounces. I always put something less than 1 ounce or below a halfway point on the mixing bottle. Anything more than 3/4 ounce and you are wasting Z2 or Z5.

When i first began using Zaino (Z2/Z5) I used a dry applicator. Then I switched to using a "moist" applicator. Some use Z6, but I use water. The Z6 seemed to dry on the applicator. I use the applicators from dftowel.com. Use both sides. After applying polish, especially when using ZFX, I soak the applicator and mixing bottle in a Dawn solution. Then wash applicator, df towels, df wash mitt and "Big Blue" in liquid soap.

Apply Z5 until you are satisfied. Then apply Z2. Keep in mind you can go back at any time and apply additional layers of Z5. I usually applied one layer of Z5 to every 3-4 layers of Z2.
