Default fight brake dust by painting back of wheels

I am considering painting the back side of my factory 18"wheels behind the spokes, flat black to hide the brake dust. It seems like it might make keeping them clean looking a little easier. Has anyone done this already? Or is there some downside I'm not thinking of (other than the effort)?

I don't see why painting the back of the wheel would help at all. You might want to invest in some Hawk HPS or EBC GREEN STUFF brake pads.

A co-worker of mine has G35 wheels on his Z and he painted the inner black, for some reason it makes the wheels look alot cleaner. I'll shoot some pics of it next time he's in.

I've got some Hawk HPS pads, and they really cut down on the dust. they are much better than stock on the track as well.

Painting the backs of the wheels won't reduce the dust any, but it might make it much less obvious. All of that filth that can be seen behind the spokes, that is so difficult to reach and remove, would be obscured by the black paint. You wouldn't need to wash any part of the wheel except the front.
