Default Has anyone tried the "Mr. Clean" kit yet?

Does anyone have or used the "Mr. Clean" kit? I saw it at SEMA being demo'ed on a black SUV. No wiping it off and no water marks. It seemed awesome but wanted more feedback before getting it myself.

Gimic or the real think? Feedback...

I've heard alot of mixed reviews on it. If you keep your car waxed/sealed all the time i don't really see the need in it. I can take the nosle off the hose and sheet the water off, it gets about 90% of the water off the car. Then i take my WW towel and get the rest.

I believe if you do a search, possibly under "detailing", you will find more negative than positive comments.

I think the general consensus was that the cleaner was a no go...but rinsing with the deionized water was o-kay. I'll find the thread. Seems it left a film on the paint.

enter Clean AutoDry in your search for more threads

Something in the de-ionized water left a "greasy" look to my SB.

When it first came out, several members tried it and reported that they liked the results. After a while, a bunch of them reported that it appeared to dull the finish.

Since that time, there have not been a lot of posts about it so I assume that the novelty wore off and there haven't been many more to try it.

Don't bother. It will leave a terribly dull residue on your paint finish. Not to mention it made the mirrors cloudy. Just don't bother with it.

I got it for my mom to wash her Sequoia thinking it'd make it easier. You put soap and a filter in and attach to the hose. Soaped up the car which was ok then when rinsing you might as well just use the regular hose and wipe it down because w/ the filter the water pressure really sucks. IMO it's not that great of a gadget, might as well go w/ a regular wash and dry then spray some clear pearl or what ever detail mist you use or if you want to wax then give it a nice wax. Also on top of that you're suppoed to just let it dry, well you'll probably have some water spots on the roof if you don't dry it. I think most people can wash the car faster than this thing can due to the poor water pressure rinsing.

It's really not worth it that's why, I think it's for people that are really slow moving, crippled or just not coordinated at anything. I didn't get any residue but then again I tried it once and didn't use it again.

If you want a spot free rinse use Spot Free H2O it's the real deal. I use it on my plane, boat and car.

It really works well, and there will be a noticeable improvment in your cars shine after drying. No matter how well u dry your car there are minerals left behind. Here in florida we have really hard water. The soap suds up better in the bucket too.

You can buy the 1000 for about $350 retail at Boat US stores.

Mr. Clean does a decent job although I don't think that it really works all that great. I still have to dry off my windows otherwise I'm left with waterspots. Even with a new filter it left 'em. =\ But for a quick wash it's not bad at all. It probably wouldn't be that bad to use just for the filtered water.
