Default TRACK headlamp covers....

Something productive emerged from my garage tonight...made out of fiberglass they are about 1/8th inches thick and can take pretty much anything you can throw at it. This is the 1st test copy so the next batch will be more refined and better fitting. These basically slide over the current lamp housing and connect at the top via a narrow piece of velcro. These ones have about 150 miles them and are still goin strong. let me know what you think...

These look very nice! Rather than taping your headlights (and still risking a rock hit), would these absorb a rock hit an protect the headlights? Looks like they would.

im so down if they are somewhat affordable. you ought to see if you could run a extension from the cover to the bolt that holds the headlight in so you wont have to use velcro.

Interesting..I'll check it out. - was trying to design them though to be a pretty basic on and off w/o tools...Also I was surprised on the slight flexibilty but rigid nature that these ended up w/...I think you guys will be happy. 350 EVO had these for the z33 about 3-4 years ago but they were extremeley expensive and there was no soft underside on the cover...I'm trying to remedy this...Will keep you posted on the progress.

I've been running these during the day on the freeway w/ no issues ( using the toll road to avoid authorities of course )....for the last couple of weeks - so far so good. They actually slide over the bottom of the headlight and only attach at the top .

I think you might be slightly better off using the bolt that holds the headlamp in place. Figure, most of the people who will use this will probably have some misc tools with them anyway.

I carry a box of tools all the time, but I know a lot of friends will definately carry some tools when going to the track.

Just checked it out last night...I could fab a thin aluminum bracket to go to the main headlamp bolt - just as long as is does not interfere w/ the hood seal. A couple more pics soon to come.
