Default question Z vs STi

Being a former wrx owner, i frequently post on the wrx boards. Recently, people with STi's have been posting that, stock for stock, they can kill Z's from a roll. Is there any truth to this?? I have been defending the Z's time and time again on this topic and i wanna know if im right. Seeing as both cars put down similar power numbers and trap about the same, i figure its a drivers race when racing from a roll. Am i correct??

Yes it is a drivers race. I had two mods intake and testpipes + stereo crap and pulled on a stock sti not hard though. We went from a 2-5mph punch.

race from a roll meaning what? assuming you start at less than 100 and stop at no more than 120, the STi wins

um i ran a 13.01@105 bone stock in my sti 13.81@101 bone stock in my g35 coupe. only mods were 26x10.5x16 et street slick and took off at 5 grand.

101 trap to 105 trap from a roll is a lot by the time you get to 100

right now 12.49@110.9 on my sti. pump gas, header, downpipe, e inch cat back, perrin crank pully and intake. no tuning.

g35 is gettin the crank pully and i put in the y pipe and the 350z intake recently. the nx kit i bought 100 shot should put me in teh 12s easy that and 3.9 evo gears

story on the rims

i went to a junkyard a few months ago saw some old rally rims and measured them. humm 5x4.5 bolt pattern = 114.3 mm so i bought them for 10 bucks. went home test fitted and the backspacing was perfect and it cleared the brakes i had a set of 26x10.5x16 et streets at home and mounted them. later that night went outto the street races.

first run my buddys 13.79@101 wrx and we are dead even off the line he runs 1.8-1.9 60 foot times about. put the vht on the street heat up the slicks and were ready to go. im used to 5500 take off like on my sti but i took off at 4500 babyin it out and we launched the same and we are both gone same time, we were are neck to neck up to 110.

I knew there was a high 13 in the car. btwmy 60 foot time was 1.804
