Default New MRC APS Stock Block RECORD- 11.60 @119.13!!!

Well I almost did it... Shooting for 11.5's and almost got there but ran my 2 fastest times ever and my fastest mph ever... Not by much but I'm happy.. Here are the details of my 2 best times from tonight..... AND A SCARY STORY!

R/T- .188 ------ R/T- .167
60'- 1.727 ------ 60'- 1.743
330- 4.873 ------ 330- 4.926
1/8- 7.482 ------ 1/8- 7.545
MPH- 94.10 ------ MPH- 93.83
1000- 9.716 ------ 1000- 9.780
1/4- 11.607 ------ 1/4- 11.666
MPH- 119.13 ------ MPH- 119.40

HERES THE SCARY PART!!!! ON MY LAST RUN OF THE NIGHT, MY 2ND SLIP WHERE I RAN THE 11.666 YES .666,,, THE TURBO LEXUS IS300 CRASHED INTO THE WALL BEHIND ME.. I DIDN'T SEE HIM CRASH UNTIL I CROSSED THE FINISH AND LOOKED FOR HIM BEHIND ME... HE GOT RIGHT OUT OF THE CAR AND WAS FINE BUT THE CAR WAS MANGLED AND HAD TO BE FLAT BEDDED OFF THE TRACK. HE SEEMS TO HAVE LOST CONTROL RIGHT BEFORE THE 1/8TH AND T-BONED THE WALL... IF ANYONE WANTS TO CHECK OUT IS300.NET, THERE MIGHT BE THE STORY ON THERE... PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU FIND A LINK...... THIS WAS TONIGHT, MAY 4TH AT ENGLISHTOWN NJ.. AND I FELT THAT RUNNING A 11.666 WAS A SIGN FOR ME TO LEAVE... CRAZY AZZ SH-T!!!!!

JASON

Hey Thanks.... I am actually running a new flywheel and clutch setup... first time at the track with it... The FIDANZA flywheel is great, however the ACT Street disc seems to be slipping too much on the launch.. Still playing around with it a bit... Had 4 runs tonight b4 the crash.. 11.75, 11.74, and these 2 11.6's.... I was playing w tire pressure the first 2 runs and ended up leaving it at 17 lbs... Seems to feel the best this way.... As far as the lexus... I think it was turbo... It was dark blue, had nice gunmetal wheels and a pretty clean lip kit... He had a is300.net sticker on the side windows so I'm sure the crash will be posted... It just happened at 8pm tonight.... I know your in MD but if your interested in coming up, there is a big NHRA import race at Atco raceway in South Jersey on the 14th n 15th.... I will be there racing.. Its probably only 2 hours from you... Let me know

Those are stick like glue...nice work.

Its amazing what the proper drag setup will do at reducing times. It's NOT all about the power. I need to learn a few things about launching at the drag strip, myself...LOL

I think you'll hit the 11.50s in no time...you're 60' has some left in it too. Did you upgrade your axles or are you still running the stockers??

Pretty freaky about the 11.666 though...I would have left too

Stll running the stock axles... Thats why i only launch at 3500 and i slip the clutch a little.... I know these tires are capable of 1.6's but i am launching easy..... Also, kharma always wins.... I am actually off to the doctor in a few.. I think I got food poisoning from the pizza at the track last night... Not fun... wish me luck.. haha :-(

maybe that IS300 didn't have much of an LSD?

my aftermarket (nismo) LSD has made tremendous improvements in my car launching straight and not kicking the tail out

you and me both-- i ran better times with 8.5 psi on a stock motor--but if i threw on some better tires--i think i can get into the low 11's myself

The funny part is that my car is not really "setup" for drag racing... I obviously use decent tires and I have a Nismo LSD but I also have it lowered with very stiff Eibachs.... There is almost no weight transfer... Plus I am running my 19's on the front.... If I really wanted to get better times, I could change my springs, and move alot of the weight in the front to the rear... Also, light skinnies on the front would also help.... And I didn't even remove my 80lb sub box from the car.... I may try swapping gears from an auto since first gear is useless... I hit the rev limiter in first almost everytime I have a good launch....

+1 - I run the JIC coilovers on the softest settings and my car stays absolutely flat during the launch, it sucks no weight transfer for me either. I wish I was on the stock suspension everytime I go to the 1/4....it was much easier to launch imo than what I have now.
