Default New Stock 6 Spd Record!!!!

That's right folks.. I have a record to post. The first post of a 6 speed of

17.012!!!!!! Heh heh definately the WORST time I have seen anyone post but I would rather give you guys details than pretend like I ran something better or not share my experience. My second run I hit a 14.793, which still sucks. Here are the details.

Sea Level, Moroso Motorsport Park in Florida. Temp about 74, gobs of humidity. Not that I think that was my problem .

Anyhow first run I lined up, reved up to 2,500 RPM dumped the clutch and jumped on the gas. Car hopped and shook like a freaking bomb went off next to me. I stayed on it (like a moron) and spun it in second too. Car even went a little side ways. I didn't give up and ran it up to 4th.

Second launch I just sort of reved a little a slipped out the clutch. I did alright on the shifting but I just have crappy launches. I think if I can get the launch down, my shifting should produce about a 14.1 or so. I don't think I will break into the 13's. Anyhow here are the numbers. Oh side note, even though my second run sucked I beat the Focus next to me.. muahahaha. I need to embrace my minor victory

Run 1
R/T 0.400
60' 2.592
330' 7.742
1/8 11.548 @ 67.26
1000' 14.543
1/4 17.012 @ 92.21

Run 2
R/T 1.089
60' 2.455
330' 6.457
1/8 9.720 @ 75.81
1000' 12.470
1/4 14.793 @ 97.41

There ya have it.

~Josh

The same thing happend to me last time i went to the track, but i let out after i started going sideways and didnt even try the rest of the race. I ended up with a 19.something.

I was thinking, whoah, my time didn't last very long!

13.5 is possible. If I had run my normal traps, it would have happened the night I hit my best. Oh well, very thankful for what I ran.

Hah hah Warren, nah you still got it. How do you launch just curious? Do you run it like you run it preped like on the street or do you drain air from the rear tires and all that jazz?

Stock pressure, and I launch at around 5K, feathering the clutch out quickly.

Before that though, I do a couple of quick burn outs, for 2-3 seconds, cleaning off the tires. I then do a couple of little test spins to feel for traction, as I pull up to the line. Once I have traction, I will get a little wheel hop as it grabs.

Then I wait for the last yellow, and launch.

Feather at 5k. I was either dropping at 2500 or feathering 2500. Feather, engine drops down and I have a slow launch. Drop it... spin and spin. I'll give your strategy a shot next time. Awesome time man.

Yeah it was a good time Hey I shaved 2 and a half seconds off my time after one run... Heh heh anyhow, One350, your APS time is on drag radials I am guessing. I might go to the track again tomorrow. It was so slammed on Wednsday I dunno if going tomorrow is going to be bearable. I need to find some drag strip in the middle of nowhere
