Just C&L intake

His best E.T. is 13.2xx
his best MPH is 108mph

that day the track was particularly fast (cool and back wind), but otherwise he always pulls a 106mph at around 13.4. Bad runs in the high 13s.

stock vs stock, with equal drivers the 05GT coupe from what I have seen will always pull away easily. I've seen a bone stock automatic convertible(rental) run 13.9@100... which is about as a good as a Z MT coupe.

My Z(modded) runs mid-high 13s at around 104-105 and he pulls on me.

He has the car tuned to use 93 octane with that P&P computer thingy they use. He might also have a particularly strong car, but this is the truth.

Mach1dsg has a valid point here. Although intakes provide very nice gains on 05 GTs...

...a tune is good for 20 to 30 horses.

wow, that car must a ringer, or your friend is just not telling you the truth.
take a look at this post, regular people like you and me. not bs posts advertising peformance parts for the 05 gt

http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index....pic=21090&st=0

tell me how many 05 gt's are running that fast. there is actually one guy claiming 106.53mph, he has 4.10's and tune, his handle is stkddy, notice how nobody seems too excited about such trap speed (no slip, not enough mods, but i still wonder why??... ). take a look at the other guys, the highest trap is 105mph with more mods than a 93 octane tuning and cai. almost all of them have tuning, and more mods that our subject stkddy, and more mods that your friend for that matter, but none of them since to be trapping higher than 105mph with more mods that your friend.

Your almost at a 13.9, just one good launch away.

I am trying to get my Captain to set aside a day at the track, so we can run.

He has a 2005 GT 5 speed.

He keeps telling me that he will go, but he wants me to drive his car, so I can get a better time.

I guess I'll see what I can get out of his car, then mine.

In the link you posted, look at this post

http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index....dpost&p=328564

he is trapping 104.9mph and doing 13.1

with just intake and diablo tune (could be 91 or 93 actually).

Our track is at 100ft above sea level and is considered a fast track. 1mph variance from track to track is nothing to go crazy about.

as I said, I've seen a rental automatic GT convertible (obviously bone stock) trap 100mph and hit 13.9. the coupe is 300lbs lighter and manuals are clearly faster. I know exactly what my buddy mods are. my friends aren't strong lying about anything, least of all about mods.

the camaro ran 13.7@104mph on that run, vs 14.45@98mph on the 05 gt.

he got another one like that, i think on the 05 gt first pass, 14.6@98mph

108 is a bit high of a trap for those mods. I have the same on my car and IMO it's a 105-106ish car. I ordered an Off-road Xpipe, which is good for 10-15 whp, so with that mod I am hoping for a 108 mph trap. I am going to take my car to the track soon, so I will post some slips.

I bet next fall when the air is cool, you will see some better times stock and modded in the 05 GT's.

We raced 3 times. I won 2 out of 3. The only reason he beat me the last time was i had a bad reaction time. Beat me by .0182.
Is this a normal time for the charged 05 Gt? Did humidity play that much of a role? It just seems to me that it should run alot faster than me.
My fastest time of the night was 14.3 - worst 14.703
Fastest speed was 98.96 - worst 96.38
Fastest reaction .530 - worst 1.002
Fastest 60 2.203 - worst 2.412
Fastest 1/8 9.233 - worst 9.647
This was my first time ever at a track. These times normal for Stock Z?
These are the tickets. The last run, doesn't make sense. He was in the right and i was in the left lane. Says right won but, the times don't show it. All i know is that i was in left lane for this run. I think they got it backwards.

There was one at the track with us a few weeks ago going 12.7@115 on the stock radial tires with exhaust his only other mod. The one you ran must have been having problems. A stock 05 GT should be faster than what he was running, nevermind a SC one.

A S/C 05 Mustang will put down 400+ @ the wheels. Thats with the saleen kit. A Vortech does 420, ATI claims 460, Paxton claims 440~460 as well. I have not seen the KB's yet, but I know they are using the 2.4 kit. That should do well over 450+..The common theme is 400+ power. Which means torque on a live axle should drop anywhere between 380+ Even if a guy/gal burn thru 1st and 2nd, he/she should be in the lo~mid 13's with a S/C on a 05 GT.

Truly this person does not have a S/C. Maybe it was a CAI, and he was calling it a S/C...
