Who said Z's won't run 13's?
Went to the temple dragway today and got in a good number of runs. the only thing that really sucked was i am currently running the stock 17's with the stock rubber. the tires needed to be replaced about 2,000 miles ago. needless to say, i had NO traction all afternoon. my best 60' was 2.25. even with the crappy rubber, by best time was 13.9 at 103. you can tell by the trap speed, if i could hook up, i could easily get down into the mid 13's.
the only mods i have right now are a JWT Popcharger, and a Top Speed Pro1 3" exhaust. here are a couple of the slips. dude to my traction problems, i ran a consistent 14.0-14.1
::EDIT:: for all of the people who say the 05 mustang GT's will beat a 350z, there was one at the track tonight running completely stock with 10" Nittos in the back. the guys best run all day was a 14.14 @98 with a 2.1 60'.

Thanks for including time slips (I pay no attention to drag times without a time slip). Your trap speed is excellent. As you mentioned, decent 60-foot times on DOT tires takes a lot of practice. With practice (and your apparent shifting skills) you're driving a 13.69 second Z. Its not the car - its the driver. Good job.
thanks for the compliments.
ice - it was an old cammed out chevelle i believe. his exhaust, or lack there of, raped my ears during burn out.
i have to remember to roll my windows up BEFORE burnout.
i had my buddy record a couple of my runs on his camera (note: not video camera). unfortunately he wasnt able to get the 13.9 pass, but hopefully they will give you a good idea of my shifting speed. i hope to have those hosted in a day or so.

Nice runs, 13.998 LOL. Thats basically a 14 flat to me at least, but I agree with traction you will be mid 13's....btw, I have a video of a pure stock 05 GT running a 13.5 at 103 when BigBri, and MattressMan and I went to the track...On my 19's with just popcharger I did a 2.2 60ft and my 1/8th was 9.0XX but I ran a 14.03X at 101.8, I noticed your 1/8th was a 9.1, did my 19's slow my time at the end of the track? On stockers I might be a 13.8-13.7?? Advice is greatly appreciated....
well hey, this is precision instrumentation. if it wants to give me 2 thousandsth of a second better than 14, who am i to argue?
as soon as i get the 18's laying in my garage wrapped with new rubber, i will be going back. your stang driver must have been better than this guy... cuz frankly, he sucked. he also told me that he had his COMPLETELY STOCK mustang dyno at 352hp. i was like... dude... come on. i told him to goto another dyno because obviously that shop didnt know what they were doing. it was even a dynojet. i told him get it done again, and be happy with 255 to the ground.
alberto, any suggestion for tire? i was leaning towards the new proxies, but i am really more concerned with cornering than i am with drag traction.
atar350- i am not a mechanic, nor an expert with vehicles so take my advice with a grain of salt. it is simply an opinion. depending on the weight of your 19s compared to stock, they COULD drastically effect high speed power output. that's one reason that i plan on buying the lightest rims possible when i get around to purchasing new shoes. I am really leaning towards the LMGT4... but i want a polished lip. the entire night i never trapped below 100.xx mph. There were plenty of mustangs and ls1's getting 13.7-14.1 but all trapping below 100mph. i really didn't understand this. does that mean that once i get traction with a 2.0 60 foot, that my trap will be under 100?

ok gents, i finally got a few runs up. my friend wasn't there when i ran the 13.9 sadly enough, but hopefully this should give you an idea of the shifting. next time i will try to have an actual video camera with me.

Just some info about the cars i ran:
The beetle in the first 2 runs weighed 1600 lbs.
The Sentra in the 3rd run was running cams, intake, 75 shot of nitrous, nitto rubber, short shifter, and oh yeah, the most important power adder - underbody kit.

What did that Sentra run BTW?

They look good but more importantly they handle great. And the staright line grip is awesome as well. IMO out of the tires Ive mentioned, the S03's had the stiffest sidewalls and cornered the best, and the Goodyear F1's were the best straight line tires, the BFG's are a perfect balance of both of these, so thats what I would suggest.

the sentra ran a 14.63 @ 96.55 with a 2.4157 60'. (pretty d@mn good a little 4 banger)

No. A 2.0 second 60-foot time will not insure a trap speed of 100 MPH plus, but it sure will help.
