Default Crappy driver in 06 1/4 times :)

Ill just start out by saying, i suck at drivng a stick (well im not horrible but im not the greatest thing since the TV either...) it was like 60 degs outside 40% humdity and ill just throw out my fastest time and let you guys eat me up
Keep in mind its a totally stock 350z, well minus pop-charger
60' ... 2.214
330....6.090
1/8....9.207
mph...79.56
1000..11.862
1/4....14.107
mph....99.49
then i ran a tad bit slower but ill throw those numbers down too
60' ... 2.277
330....6.161
1/8....9.285
mph...79.44
1000..11.946
1/4....14.192
mph....99.35

I know I need to get a better 60' foot, but I think for my first time out in the Z I didnt do too bad... I beat a cobra (it broke at the 1/8 and i went sailing by ) and i also beat a turbo integra BAD... duuno what happened, but the guy came to me for the race... so meh i wasnt trying to race anyone either, if you saw my reaction time you can tell, i was trying to watch rpms and SLIDE the clutch

oh and i weighed in my car at 3360 lbs. with me in it so if you take off like 150 pounds thats what the 06 weighs

Not bad. Just work on that launch, and shift just shy of the limiter.

High 13's are only a 2.0 60' away, given your conditions.

i know, i have my shift light set at 7200, so it blinks right before redline, and thus i shift... so what i lose from the launch i make up during the course of the track

Judge it against my stock run. It was hotter and more humid when I ran with just the pop charger. I think my car weighs a little more than yours.

Are you sure your car weighs 3360? Website says stock 06 Z enthusiast weighs 3346? http://www.nissanusa.com/vehicles/ModelSpecifications/0,,126240|126256|,00.html

I know in 05 the base Z weighed 3188, and the Enth was a little heavier, like 3200, did the 04 weigh different from 05, I dont understand why TruBluz's 04 would weigh more then my 05 (3188) and your 06(3346)

Also, the popcharger is a great mod, on the pre-06 cars in ideal conditions they were getting +6 wheel hp, and around 13 crank hp, not sure about 06, but I would say with a popcharger consider yourself a Z with intake not stock

In my 05, I have the popcharger, tein springs, and 19 inch racing harts, my first time to the track with all these mods I got crappy 60's like you 2.2 - 2.3 because my 275's suck for some reason and just burn out 70% of first gear, but I was running 14.0x @ 100-101....I think when I get my 285/35 BFG's my 60ft times could drop below 2.0 maybe like a 1.9-1.8 and my E.T. should drop to a 13.8-13.6.

These times below could have been better, maybe 13.9x's but I kept forgetting to powershift from 1st to 2nd I completley let off gas, and powershifted all the rest of the gears....that time in between 1 - 2 gear could have been made up if I remembered to F*in powershift and I could have been 13's... I probably will have to wait until next season....

My timeslips look like this:

reaction .567
I1 2.293
I2 6.044
I3 9.146
mph I3 80.382

E.T. 14.059
MPH 101.096

R .551
1 2.173
2 5.969
3 9.103
mph 3 79.837

E.T. 14.033
MPH 100.757

Maybe someone can chime in, does Curb weight differ from those scales you drive on to? Or is it the same thing, I am just dumbfounded on how Nissan says the car weighs 3360, and with Gryphin inside his car he says it weighed in at 3360. Just doesnt make sense!

Anyways, I stopped by your site, your car looks great! Did you remove your rear wiper? It was still on in your pics, I took mine off, I have a link to my CarDomain in my sig, check it out, later!

My 04 is an Enthusiast and not the Base. The Base model is always lighter. And Gryphin is all bones! With me in the car at the same weigh station, my car weighs 34**. Can't remember exactly.

My numbers with the same pop charger mod, full interior, 3/4 tank of gas and stock tires (stock psi).

60' - 1.9**
1/4 - 13.843
mph - 100.14

That's just off the top of my head. No powershifting. I lifted fully between shifts.

I'll agree, those times aren't that bad. About average, I practically had the same time when I ran for the first time. It was a pretty hot and humid night, about 80+ degrees and about 80%+ humidity I think.

My run with the Pop Charger was in the 40s and low humidity. Perfect night to run.

I know you both have enthusiasts, his should (going by the website) be 3346 stock. Even with a skinny driver at 100 pounds, the car would be 3446, at the most I would knock of 50 pounds for miscellanious objects removed from the car, and less then half tank of gas, but you are still at 3396.

Your's TruBlu is a little heavier then the base, 05 base was 3188, the 05 Enthusiast was a little heavier, somewhere around 3200, was 04 different as far as weight? You guys should have cars that weigh the same, or close if you weigh more then gryphin, I am 6' and a 180 pounds, my base isnt so light with me in it, lol....

When I go to the track, I always have a 1/4 tank, is it better to have more gas so there is some extra weigh in the rear? I have always raced with a 1/4 tank of gas in any car.

Did you have your spare and tools out Gryphin? I always take those out on race day, and actually dont drive with them or my spare, lol I just know if I ever get a flat there is always someone to come get me and take me to get my tire fixed, or run home and get the stock ones
