Cams on a VQ are not a piece of cake. I've rebuilt a manual transmission, installed clutches, put a new headgasket on a neon, installed most of my turbo kit, and done tons of other work on cars.

That said, I would be very hesitant to make the VQ my first DOHC cam swap project.

I did the cams on my car.. its really isnt easy nor crazy hard.. just time consuming

BTW I get what you mean about upping boost instead of adding cams. Cant argue that.

I dont think I would want to do cams on this car....going to the "fast" track next weekend. Good A/F in the 11's this time, and a 1.6 60ft could be 11.7X....

the trick i learned is to set the seat back a lot so you can only push the clutch down half way even if you reach as far as you can... it seems to be working. i just floor the car. never let off, launch at 6000, rape the gears, and press the clutch down about two inches, i have a feeling that alberto does the same thing....

Been doing it for years, not as exagerated as you though. I always set mine so its a stretch to push the clutch all the way in, and so my arm is extended fully for a 2-3 shift, thats how I set my daily seating position. And to the guy asking for a foot video, I doubt it, I dunno how Id rig that one up, this isnt Best Motoring lol...

www.capitolraceway.com

Its in Crofton MD, close to Glen Burnie which is known for ricers and $hit talking non drivers. I just ignore them, most people are nice at tracks anyways...
