Well, the ford v6 community has been running an event all over the country at various tracks for a few years now called V6 ford challenge, recently a chevy 3800 v6 camaro joined. As our cars are all v6es, it should be a pretty good nice close competition. For more information check out www.v6power.net, then go to the forum subsection on track meets and v6fordchallenge.

we'll have our billion close to stock v6es, and you'll have your billion close to stock v6es so the vast majority will be 350z raping v6 pony, but for the fully modded crazy folk, it should be close
4.0L V6 210HP for the new model
and ...
3.8L V6 190HP for the previous generation...
VS.
3.5L V6 287HP
and
3.5L V6 298HP?
mod for mod... you have to make up nearly 100bhp to even out with a stock Z... on top of that... the mustang is heavier...
also...
you have your 'BILLION' V6 mustangs on the road, but there are definately not even close number of Z's produced, in-production, will-be-produced

Everybody knows the numbers there slick, and he already stated stock for stock he knows what would happen. He simply was making a friendly challenge, not bashin the Z or saying he is superior, just an invite. No need for all of that.

+1 for the friendly competition.
Sounds like something out of Initial D. The Evo (Emperor) team going around and challenging everyone.

well i appreciate your guys freindliness, way better than going into a honda forum
or a chevy v8 forum lol.
Yes i do realize that you guys have a lot more to start with stock vs. stock, but our parts are dirt cheap (400 bucks for an engine with about 40k miles on it), our cars are abundants, and our cars are dirt cheap. It's basicly two schools of thought running against eachother, quick out of the box vs. slow a lot of potential out of the box.
We may be more abundant in numbers than the Z, but i'd have to argue that there is a lot more commercial industry supporting the 350z than the v6 mustang. Aftermarket brands don't support the bottom of the barrel model of each car, there are parts for the v8 mustangs in huge supply, but for the v6es they are rare, and most of our work is done by ourselves.
we would probably have to divide up the race into Zs and ford v6es, then have the fastest of both go head to head. This is so that its not a bunch of 350Zs and a few v6 mustangs at the end of the race.
I'd prefer that you guys just bring a few of your fast guys to the track just for some fun, rather than a swarm of the close to stock 350Zs. So lets say we have a dozen 12-14.00 sec v6 mustangs and a few 11 sec and 1 or 2 10 sec v6es, you guys could bring a dozen or so Fastest-13.5 sec 350zes.
Believe it or not, there are way more people racing 350Zes than v6 mustangs, well thats not so hard to believe. I mean why buy a v6 and mod it instead of a v8, well that 4 grand in cost differences means you can go faster with a v6 mustang than a v8 with the same amount of money, not too mayn people realize that and buy the v8 mustangs.
You guys have over a thousand people on this forum, our forum has a few hundred at most.
But i am just asking for some fun and inviting you all to come, anyone can come (as soon as i get approval from my people), but i'd prefer you guys bring a few of your fastests cars.
::directed to those who question the sanity of this, or question if i've been smoking purple haz:: I mean i'd see how you guys mgiht laugh at the v6 mustang, i mean i even make fun of my own car cuz its got a mini van engine in it, but it does have potential, any engine has potential, especially relativley large ones.
And one of you noted that you guys are 80-100 hp ahead of us stock, but we are .3-.5 litres ahead in displacement, and for the 3.8 you can bore and stroke it to 4.3 litres without a problem (about a grand). So mod for mod, this is good competition.
You have to realize our engines are made for masproduction minivans/explorers and are meant for cheap low cost production, rather performance.
::: ok the facts on the events:::
Our events have been held in georgia, milan drag way out side of detroit in michigan, and florida as well. Most of our fastest guns live in the south, the detroit area (where i am from) had a 11.3 sec v6 supercharged but the guy was running stock internals and blew a connecting rod. I am sure if the race is anywhere other than the south we wont have any 10 sec v6es there.
Go to www.v6power.net and go to the message board, and look for the v6 ford challenge section.
I myself haven't been able to make it to an event, but the talks for one this summer maybe in canada near the niagra falls, in northern ohio near cleveland, or in northern michigan. Milan was the original plan, but they arent renting the whole track out for the day anymore. I am going to mention some other tracks to the guys.
oh also columbus ohio is another potential location too.
Where do most of you guys come from? We havent had a west coast event yet, and a lot of people are wanting one. We have a few turbos out west that are in the works of being built.
BTW the v6 mustang 99-2004 manuals weighed in at 3066 lbs stock, autos about 3150, we arent heavier, you guys are i believe.
Would you guys be willing to drive a few hundred miles for an event like this?
