you are crazy

how would a place that close to sea level be a bad track... some of the fastest of any given cars run in florida. they have minshaft air days at near sea level tracks.

arizona and LV are some of the WORST places

anywhere that is in the mountains

Hey here's a question for those of you that run nitrous at the track.

I remember that westhampton LI track used to make a big deal about having a proper metal barrier between the bottle and the driver (so if you put the bottle in the trunk for example, you were fine). But what about running nitrous in the Z; it's a hatch, so the bottle would sit back their about level with your head! What are the regulations about securing that bottle?

I need to upgrade my axles so I can actually use the slicks that I bought last year and launch the $hit out of my car.

Congrats...nitrous is great for drag racing....

im coming after your time after i get new tires.... hehehe

yours is one of the faster ones that i have seen, when i am fully tuned and right size slicks i am thinking i will be 11.7 @120 exactly....

you should be fine with your axles on slicks, i am pushing A LOT of torque and getting dead hook with nitrous. i would just try it!! oh yeah i am crazy though

How much would it cost to upgrade your axles? if you're only a bolt on Z would you have to upgrade your axles if you're thinking about purchasing some slicks?

i have stock axles with 150 shot launching at 6000 hitting the nitrous off the line with no progressive controller.

the slicks will actually absorb the wheel hop because they are soft tires with big sidewalls

you would probably break your axles faster with drag radials

Better hurry up...I'm going to be going to the track with slicks and my 10lb boost setting in a couple weeks...

Already broke one axle on slicks last year...don't want that headache again. Just ordered the DSS level 2 axles today.

BTW....I'm on a DR right now and it will spin well before it snaps an axle...when slicks dead hook on a hard clutch dump with an UPGRADED CLUTCH (you have a stock clutch that is softening up your launches just enough to not snap an axle) you will break an axle eventually.

As for your car, have you had your car dyno'd on the current setup?

i only put down 250 with the utec base map the day i got the utec in. i found out that map was way off and have self corrected some things. i am waiting for my tuner wb this week. i will make me 4 maps NA and jump on a dyno and see where i am making the most power. but to answer your question. nope. i am guessin only around 260.

yeah my best 60 times actually both of them. 1.63 and 1.65 , when i was doing the burnout i caught traction and started going forward and pushed in the clutch and burn it up. two different times. so instead of bogging at all it just barely slipped.

bri guy, are those stronger axles heavier??

260whp??? You either mean 360 or 460 to trap 115mph...

I don't believe the upgraded axles are any heavier...just stronger.

oh i mean NA and then i am running a 150 shot, 125 to the wheels on top of that. but lots of torque

at 3000 on a 100 shot i hit 80 hp and 170ft pounds of torque

so i am probably about 380 hp and about 450 ft pounds of torque at 5000 rpms.
