My stock 350z vs. Eagle Talon
Hi,
I am new to this site as i have said before in my few other posts, but i have a little problem. My friend is just buying a 1994 Eagle Talon Tsi, that is running 16 psi on his stock turbo. I was just wondering if i could beat him, I have faith in my 350z that it will hands down beat him. The only mods i know of the Talon having is...
Manual Boost Controller
Toyo Proxes
3 inch turbo back exhaust
headers
Turbo Timer
Intake
short throw shifter
greddy type rs bov
Overall, the numbers my friend says its putting down is 260 horsepower, and 230 torque. So really what do you think the outcome will be, both from a roll and a dig? Should i be the slightest bit scared or am i totally wrong about this Talon?

Is he FWD or AWD??? My guess is FWD? If he is putting 260 to the wheels, it's not going to matter much. You're going to lose either way. Sorry. Give it a go and see if he's shooting you straight with his numbers, and don't be surprised if you lose.
Even if you have the lightest stock Z (older base) and he has the heavy AWD, he's still lighter than you by almost 100 pounds and putting more power to the ground. If he has FWD he's MUCH lighter than you and still putting significantly more power to the ground. I hate to say it, but your blind faith has misguided you.
You will never know the outcome until you give it a go, but you've been warned.

Seems like all this guy has is a downpipe, turboback, intake, and MBC...and only 16lbs of boost on a 1G....run him from a roll and you shouldn't have a problem. 260whp with those mods is BS...
I have a bunch of friends with DSMs and the only ones that ever beat me when I was stock had upgraded turbos. I know there are pretty quick 1Gs out there with the 14B turbo, but they have a lot more work done than your friend does and are far from the norm. Hell..I even took out a few DSMs with 16G turbo upgrades when my Z was stock.
My money is on the Z from a roll...might be a pretty good run from a stop if the DSM guy knows how to launch an AWD car.

That much boost???? WTF?? Stock boost on a DSM is 11psi...an extra 5 psi on a low compression 2.0L motor is nothing crazy.
