usually every tenth you can knock off on your 60 equaters to 2 tenths on the top end. this isnt true everytime but it kinda equals out like that.

man i wish it was colder, it was 95 during the day last wed at the track, 85 when i was running and got down to maybe like 80 with lots of humidity. too bad i wont be NA much longer cause this same setup right now would have to be good for 108-109 mph traps

We straight ran during 100 degree temps and didn't give an $hit!

Going F/I? Let me guess, Turbonetics Tuner Kit? Thats what I'm looking at. For me, the 1/8 mile is killing my times. I power shift from time to time on the streets but because it was my first time at a track with RWD I was more concerned with 60' times. I'll definitely give it a whirl!

My best 60' was at 25 psi and when I went down to 20 psi they would spin shifting to third which seemed strange.

wrong and wrong i have lived in florida my whole life, it hasnt even gotten up to 100 yet this year. you cant go by the temp in your Z. not very accurate, the thermometer sits right in the front of your radiator. im pretty sure its picking up a little bit of heat off the car.

plus did you run at 2 pm, thats when it would have been 100 if you say it was. if you ran at bradenton it was probably 5 or 6 pm.

i have a fully built, darton sleeved, arias ED, pauter rods, ported heads, greddy tt, motor i am about to throw in my car in the next couple weekends. it is in my really really good friends car and he sold me the car. the car is a G so i am putting just the engine into my light a$$ car. he safely tuned it to right under 500 on 10.5 psi. it should be good to over 700 but i am not going to push it til l i get it in my car and running perfectly for a while. iwill be posting pics this weekend of everything. it will be a really really fun project for me here at my house....

Default track

We or i was out there from about 10am to about 2pm. It was one of the hottest days we have had in bradenton for a while. My best slip for that day was

60- 2.269
1/8=9.33
79.44
1000=12.036
1/4= 14.31
98mph

i cant figure out why my trap is so slow compared to the other guys? Im guessing that one350zfan is running faster than us because he has better, bigger tires. the stock tires suck.

I went to the track like 4 weeks earlier and got a:

60= 1.999
1/8=9.049
78.06
1000=11.76
1/4 14.05
98.3

I might be able to scan a slip or two. I'm not sure this forum needs any more 14 flat time slips, but I'll see what I can do.

The following is a list of excuses for my slow times. You can pick and choose the ones that you like.

Weather saturday:

95 degrees
63% humidity
29.9 bar pressure
per the weather channel.
+ the heat coming off the asphault. It was kinda hot.

My ECU is pissed at me due to either an exhaust leak or a bad O2 sensor. I reset the light before running, but it always comes back on within 50 miles.

Like Zfan said, I have the heavy oem 18's w/ ventus rubber. I hate to admit that, but they were on the car when I bought it. I did have one or two 2.1x 60' but most were 2.2x, so the track was in pretty good shape.

I have full interior including the heated seats (which are nice those three nights in florida when you can use them). Plus 10-15 lbs of random junk-clothes, shoes, etc.- in the back.

...oh and al those *&^#ing love bugs on the front of the car.

Bottom line: Zfan is just a track queen. First one to the finish line wins.

Dude, thats nut! Good luck with that beast!

Bradenton's Saturday T&T is from 10-2 and we got there about 11:00 and ran straight to 2. Weather channel said 95 but they weren't at the track!

Drag queen? You should beat me Ztampa you got more mods! When we have equal mods you better be bustin' .001 R/T's or its GAMEOVER!

Those are great times considering the heat and conditions.

I was planning on being there last saturday but had to end up taking my car in the shop to get stuff taken care of before HIN. I'll definitely be around more, and am considering moving to south riverview which is close to the track.

HAHAHA! Sorry sir, you won't catch up! Already contacted my wholesale buddy(for wheels) and seems they carry a full line of Welds racing.

What size/kind of wheels do you have? I haven't been to the track yet, but would like to soon. Are 19's huge for running the quarter with? j/k I know, I know.. they be heavyy

Like I said, I blame the climate and the heavy wheels.. My 60' isn't that great but I should still be in the 13s.

I have Kazera KZ-A (Nismo replicas) rims 8.5" front with 245/40-18 and 9.5" rear with 275/40-18

shanecrosby - You should do pretty well, most likely beating my time, since your car is a tad bit lighter (track) and is more modded. Good luck and post up the results.

Sure thing. I should be able to hit the track in a month or so. I want to get my test pipes on before running the 1/4.

I'm going to the track again, most likely next Friday. Hopefully, it's cooler then and my times improve. I don't have any money to buy mods. All I can do is improve my own skills. BTW, did you do the installation for the Pulley set. If so, how hard was it and how long did it take? If not, info on the install?

Sammy at Stillen in Costa Mesa did the install 2 days ago. He also advanced my timing 2 degrees down low. Got the full kit w/ belts for $270. Install $198. Throttle response feels quicker, and I'm pretty sure theres a lil diff in power.

Potentially in the future we could race in a total vacuum; until then the most valuable tool we can use is to control our variables. Race at the same track, go to the same dyno, and compare those results. With a group of that size I would have gone in on some 17's with a nice sticky tire and shared them throughout the day; you would have seen 13's and possibly the Z#2.

Oh and .008 is straight ridiculous - sounds like a little staging trickery - totally believable and legal - you should have taken some tips from him.

Well, we were at the same track and maybe one day we'll go to a dyno together. Z#1(Ztampa) and I have been friends since 5th grade so were pretty much brothers, trust me, he's been busting my ***** for the last few weeks. It just wasn't the .008, it was the other four .01x that killed me. Running better ET's and Traps and still getting beat by almost a full car Until his car is faster, I doubt he'll be giving pointer! Staging trickery? It was his first time dragging at any track- f**king lucky is more like it.
