Default First Time At The Dragstrip With The Z

Well i have work early tommorrow so i decided to take the Z out to the dragstrip before the season ends. Temperature was low to mid 50s.

Im running stock RE-040s and to say the least, they suck. I couldnt get a good launch for the life of me. It was my first time, but i was still disapointed.

Best Runs:

Best E/T:
R/T .615
60' 2.310
1/4 14.143
MPH 102.68

Best MPH:
R/T .531
60' 2.373
1/4 14.215
MPH 103.08

Diagnosis, my 60's are horrible. I did talk to someone who said the track was slick. He said he usually ran 2.1XX but was only pulling 2.3XX. Regardless i was still not launching very well.

Any ideas, comments, tips?

Not bad trap speed; definintely in the 13s once you get the launch down. What are you launching at (RPMs)?

2.5 - 3.2ks. Anywhere in there but i either got wheel spin or bogged out. I couldnt find a medium. I guess i will have to go more and practice.

What times can one anticipate with a 103mph trap? Assuming i bring my 60's down ofcourse.

Ive gone 13.3 with a 103/104mph trap and a weak 1.9 60ft. For you with a 2.0 60ft, you could expect around 13.6....

Decent trap speeds. The OEM tires are not the greatest, but you can do better with practice.

awesome. makes me want go to back before the weather gets bad. The thing that is hard is when you are lining up to camaros ripping tires off the ground its hard to concentrate on getting a nice launch.

Let them go ahead, you know R/T has no effect on heads up ET. Concentrate on your launch/tecnique and go when your ready...
