Default Line Loc worth it??

Hey what do you guys think about using a line loc for burnouts. I hardly ever do them but when I do dont you think it would be worth not f***in up your back brakes.

Not worth it.......unless you have a drag car. I for one would not be doing too many burnouts--you will break something expensive eventually

If you own a serious drag racer, you would know the answer.

They work great. Had one in my Supra and loved it. Only costs like $80 and you can install it yourself if you know what you're doing.

You may be able to adapt a kit such as this. I am not certain how the ABS-VDC-TCS system will react to locking the front brakes. For street tires it is overkill. For drag racing and slicks it is a good idea.

I was going to install line locks on my car, but during my most recent trip the the strip last weekend I figured out how to consistantly do long smokey burnouts with the brake fuse pulled. No line locks for me.

This is a dumb question but how do you go about doing your burnouts? Do you leave it in first or shift into second? I havent tried the brake fuse trick yet and Im having a hard time heating up my DRs. Any info would help. Thanks.

Pull the stop lamp fuse by the dead pedal. Get your rears into the water. Start in second gear, tach it up, dump the clutch and quickly get your left foot on the brake.

I used to pull the fuse, actually built a little switch that I can turn it on and off but it will wear on your brakes and you will still have fishtailing issues.
On top of it you can use them for launching which is something you can't do with just the brake fuse pulled

I got Line locks installed over a year ago and love them, never leave home without them

you need 2 of them and they have to be installed after the TCS/VDC to not trip the computer
here's the link to what I have....again you need to buy 2 of them

I had them installed at Brainstorm back then.
It took about 3 hours, biggest part of the job is flaring the brake lines

here's a pic:

line locks are way to go if you dont like holding the brake at just the right spot while doing a burnout, i have noticed that these brakes are kinda touchy and push them too hard, the car will bog, push them not enough and the car will start to move forward. i dont have any problem doing a burnout with them, the important part is to make sure you get the tires really wet...

good luck either way...
