11.0 at 129....
well guys, still a slipping clutch, i made three runs, time slips posted. i have some pics i will throw up tomorrow.
first two runs, the 11.0 at 127 and the 11.1 at 125 were both at 17 psi, the car pulls hard until 4th gear, then the top of 4th starts slipping and 5th gear just slips all the way to the rev limiter
the second run was identical to the first run, i mean, look at the slips, its crazy BUT i ran 2.5 mph less cause the clutch was fried on the second run..
sooo i decided to turn the boost down to around 15.8 psi WOW fourth gear held all the way through and the top end pulled like crazy. i hit 129 mph, very happy with that. i actually held 4th gear all the way out. i figure that when its slipping at higher psi, i short shift not knowing cause i shift at the rev limiter. so when it wasnt slipping, actually pulled all the way.
also its about time to change my suspension, i had two launches where i lauched pretty hard, both 1.65 and 1.64, but the car launches then it rebounds and breaks loose. the ideal launch for best traction is to have the car squat about 1-2 inches. that way there is no harsh rebound like i had.
all in all, the car has A LOT more in it, i just have to get rid of the 6 speed cause i refuse to put a 3000 dollar clutch in and just go breaking the stock tranny. BTW this is still with the stock tranny and stock axles... they really are holding up well!!
thanks guys!!!!

i will throw some more pics up tomorrow...

also if you look at my first run and you see that 9.4 at 143, well that was Z Gads SLOWEST run of the night, that car is soooooo nasty fast!!!

Damn so close dude, one more measley 0.1 and you're there. Keep us updated on what you end up doing to get past this little bump.

It's a 240z with a 2JZ-GTE swap in it and big single.

Yep Jeremy, I think if you could have had another run or two at the lower boost settings, you would have cracked the 10.99 mark. You were only a good 60' away on two of those passes!
Those skinnies up front make it feel like the car is on rails doesn't it...

are you thinking of putting the stock springs in the back to give you some more travel? have you dialed in the geometry at all (toe, camber, etc) for these runs? that will help
I think the Hotchkis rear springs are softer than stock... just an idea.

Amazing, what a teaser
I guess you'll be the first from our small list...I hope to give you a run for your money next weekend, but I think it'll take a few tries so for now I bow to you

thanks guys, its crazy that turning the boost down 1.5 psi actually made it run faster due to the slipping. damn i wish i could turn it way back up and get a clean run, i think it would easily trap 132-134 at 17 psi.
the tranny will help just a bit

jeremy, next sat is night of fire. its probably going to be nuts on friday. you can bracket on saturday, its a good event. let me know if you are going to go, i can save you some pit room next to ours.(although i wont be racing again.)
i had about 32 in them, they are light for sure.
15x3.5 with 1.75 BS. i am running the ET fronts 26 x 4 BUT i think if i did it again i would go with some 185/15s or 195/15s so i could drive them on the street.
i want to drive up to the corner next week in my full slicks setup cause it will be fun!!
it kinda sucks driving to the track and changing 4 rims though.... especially dealing with weld lugs
i got the cragars for my back rims but they were out of them so i have welds on the fronts, now they are all mixed up... haha
