9.22 240z video
Wow, thanks for the props all!!
Honestly, I never thought it would be this fast when I started building it (year and a half ago). It seems to just get quicker each time out. It was just a little scary on the top end at the end of the night, as the track (to my knowledge) hadn't been prepped at all after the 60' mark or so.
Regarding the suspension in the car... it is still the stock components (a-arms, strut tubes and 280z stub axles) with Tokiko springs and Koni adjustable shocks (all set to the stiff setting).. I am running an 87 300zx turbo LSD and CV shafts with 3.36 rear gears. Guys keep telling me that I need to put in a solid axle and backhalf the car, blah, blah, blah, but I like the idea that it is still running the independent rear suspension and it seems to be working for me...
Regards, Mike

LOL, where did you find that?
Yep, that's a little older pic before the last round of upgrades, with the stock intake manifold and a little smaller turbo and piping.
I have a photo album over on www.HybridZ.org, but you have to register to view photos... if anyone is interested, here is the link to my photo album that shows some build photos, timeslips, etc. I'd post an updated pic of the engine bay over here, but I am unsure how.

So what kind of shape was the car in when you purchased it? And what was the reason behind the 2JZ engine, other than the fact its a crazy powerplant.
Its a Nice car, good job.

Well, I have been an old Z car guy for many years. My 71 started as a bone stock restoration 12 years ago... I replaced the floors, frame rails, door skins, rear quarters, fenders, hood, rocker panels, all with new Nissan parts. Then it sat in my garage in bare metal and primer for 8 years. During that time I had a number of L28 turbo and 3.1 turbo stroker setups in my 77 280z (on the left in that photo). I found that my thirst for power and love for turbos could not be quenched easily. The 2JZGTE has always been my favorite motor and I just figured I would build my own dream car. Right now, I am enjoying the straight line rush of it, but eventually, when I get bored with it, I'll pull the auto for a 6-speed and try some other stuff... probably track days and the like. My 240z is still a pretty nimble car on street rubber and handles corners and braking (12.2 rotors and Wilwood brakes on all 4's) very well.
Anyway, I guess only time will tell
Regards, Mike

Sounds like a trip to me. I want to attend more events this year. Its kinda hard up here in Massachusetts though. There isnt really much going on. I would have to make a trip to New Jersey to see some action. Georgia sounds pretty cool to me though. I can just keep going south after that and see Jeremy's shop too!
