Default my 1st 1/4 mile runs...

went to the Rockingham Dragway here in NC, for some test-n-tune on Saturday night. My 1st time doing 1/4 mile runs. I got in 5. All of my times were in the low, low 13 sec. range, only once busting into the 12's.

my set-up is as follows:

2003 g35 with 26k miles(4years old this week)
auto trans with upgraded valve body
greddy TT @ 10psi.
375 on Sharif's dyno(tuned 2 months ago)
stock cats & borla TD exhaust
1/4 tank of 93octane
nothing taken out of car
Goodyear Eagle gs-d3's (315's)

absolutely NO TRACTION thru 1st & 2nd gears
(once full boost kicks in forget abouit it)
one run I spun in 3rd & had to let off

so I started short shifting 1st & 2nd, which helped out

so before next year:
I need to borrow Alberto's fender roller & fix my camber
get some high flow cats & 3in exhaust

Wayyyy more left in that set-up. Even given the 60ft, seems low on 2nd 1/8 pull with only 19mph worth of pull. Get some Forged 3" down pipes and retune!

yep, the exhaust is holding her back a bit!

hey Alberto,
Can I "rent" your lip roller? Then ship it back to you?
for say like $50? If Sharif still has it could he ship it to me, then I'll ship it to you?

Geez, you make 375 at the wheels but are only trapping 109mph.

I don't get it.

4th gear in the autos is 1 to 1 ratio. SSOOOO it is like taking our 6MT from 1st to 5th and taking a gear out.

much longer gears, 4th is way way too long in the autos. plus cant blame it on his shifting, i would say get some test pipes and a nice free flowing exhaust. you dont need 3 inch IMO i think its almost overkill, i did some tests recently and also next week will be on my dyno doing some with my EVO TT and then open test pipes then NO test pipes to see how the power measures up

If Sharif can vouch for you, I'll ship it to you (your cost) and you ship it back, $50 sounds cool with me.

FYI-it only costs $12 IIRC to ship it Fed-Ex ground....

What should he be trapping?

I'd expect to be in the 111-112 area with that kind of power, but then again, I did not notice it was an auto and an auto g35c is not light at all.
So I can understand it better now.
