you know. i was thinking my times arnt good either. Heres the thing this car has been a problem to me. First i was having issues with my plenum spacer so i got rid of it. Have exhaust issues.. A BONE stock z was beating me when i had exhaust plenum spacer and cai. my launch is good but my 60 isnt.

i have a small exel file i will upload of sometimes. Idk if that will help you guys determine the problem. With spray i should be alot quicker

As for tires i have 295-40-18 on 9.5 rim.. Is the tire contacting the asphalt properly? what psi should it be on when im running? Tires are Falken Azenas http://www.vulcantire.com/azenis_rt615_t.htm
Pretty good tire for track ive heard. i run these as my dailys. i spin them a bit before coming to the staging.

when i spray: i launch..then in the transition of 1 to 2 i turn it on. so the spray helps me get to redline quicker and then i shift.. Is this okay? not ok? i tried another method: launch shift 1 to 2 then turn on nitrous. but that got me a slower. time.

Also....I HAD other ppl that are real good at shifting and driving and i kno it because of the time they have gotten in their veichle. THEY WERE getting worse times than i was. So im not sure if its me or the car?

New personal best. This is really my first run in the car's current form and my first run in over 1 year. I get kicked after 1 run because I don't have a full cage in a convertible. I hope to get back to the track soon and get some practice. I should be able to reach 10's on low boost. If the transmission will hold up, I'll turn it from 14psi up to 25psi and try for 9's, but the transmission will probably not be up to it.
Anyway, I was very happy with the results. It was 30 degrees, so traction was an issue. I didn't launch under boost. Any other suggestions from the experienced drag racers is much appreciated. Thank you!

Congrats on the 11.399 run mrg1981! I was there last night too (didn't go quite so well for my single turbo G, lol...thanks again for all your help though!), your roadster definitely has 10's on they way with that setup!

Your 60' is an indication of your launch. If your 60' sucks, then obviously your launch needs work (thus, not good).

Tire pressure for street tires should be whatever is recommended, but you can let out a little if you wish. Contact patch depends mainly on the camber and the suspension geometry (the squat). Type of tire also matters, due to the rigidity of the side walls (research more into this). Lastly, street tires shouldn't see burn outs, just a quick clean of road debris is fine.

What you said about spraying makes no sense. How do you spray between 1 and 2, but it helps you get to redline quicker? I think you mean it sprays starting from 2nd, in which case that's fine and even preferable for street tires. Of course spraying in 1st will net you a better ET, but you'll also spin more which may end up slowing you down. You have to experiment with your set up.

Also, I'm not sure what you're saying in your last paragraph, but you can't compare 1 car to another when all the variables are different. The comparison is moot.

Your right i do need to work on it.. This is my first time ever dragging. Clarify some things. Tires dont see burn out. just a quick clean as you said. Also last parapraph was talking about. I let couple other people drive my car and i kno they are good drivers. much better than me, and they were not doing good as well..

so is their a technique to shifting? i can shift pretty quick but is there something i should know?

A good driver should be able to pull off a 1.9XX 60 ft with a stock or nearly stock setup. . I run 25-26lbs pressure in my Toyo 19" tires, because there is hardly any sidewall to flex. I also burn out on stock tires, but most people don't. It works for me and I launch pretty well.

Practice as much as you can and you will find the right combination. Change tire pressure etc. The faster you shift the better your time will be.

Likewise; on the G, nothing conclusive but we’re thinking it’s most likely a bent rod.

I bent my rod, and all I got was this lousy 13.5 time slip, lol

^This has got me wondering.... If the number of engine swaps increase, we may have to create their own "class." What do you propose, Mike? Are you putting him in one of the other lists and the overall or just the overall?

SICK set up, SnyperZ.

I was planning on just giving him the bump in Overall Top 25.....I figure we should keep the ST and TT lists for VQ only. If we get ~5 swaps....perhaps a singular swap list may be in order. I am open to suggestions though.

I was going to suggest the same thing you were already thinking, down to the 5 swaps. You're the one in charge of this section, so you have the executive decision (unless the members say otherwise).

Added to Top 25 Overall:

9. SnyperZ ----------04 6spd -Perf -LS2 w/Cam-Custom 88mm ST 10.840@138.62mph 1.852 60ft DR's

Dropped from Top 25 Overall:

25. BRING IT --------03 6spd -Tour 35 shot --------Greddy TT 11.707@117.83mph 1.742 60ft DR's

Snyper,
For now the ST and TT Top 25 will remain for VQ motors only. However, if we can get another 5 swap submissions I will open a new category for you guys.

It was at Jacksonville. I have a LSD for it in the back seat of my truck and I'm planning on getting some radials Friday and trying again this weekend just bumping the shot up some. Yes I sprayed in first I have a full throttle switch under the peddle. But I rode the clutch out without going wot through about half of first just to get it moving and then I hit it.
